Fast and smooth operation?
Fast and smooth operation?
Currently, my printer is quite jerky especially at higher speeds. Should I turn acceleration up or down?

What do you mean by jerky? Is it still moving the correct distances? What software are you using and what settings? Which firmware? What board version?

If you meen the noise, than make sure, that you install a spacer like here http://forum.seemecnc.com/viewtopic.php ... 289&p=7094 or here http://www.3dfabricationworks.com/rosto ... rades.html .
After this you can tune the position of the free running gear, so it is in the middle of the two other ones.
If it skips steps, then increase the current. If have mine now set all the way up to 255.

It still moves the correct distance, prints fine. It just bothers me that it jerks like it does.

A bit of jerkyness (is this an English word?MorbidSlowBurn wrote:What do you mean by jerky?

Re: Fast and smooth operation?
also wasn't the jerkiness, also cause by firmware, switching to repetier was smoother from what others have said.
