New cheapskates and TrickLaser CF rods

Post by Gundy1024 »

So I am helping a friend build his new Rostock Max V2 and it came with the new cheapskates. He ordered the TrickLaser CF rod upgrade and after installing it I am questioning if it is going to work because the rods are not parallel. The are wider at the effector than they are at the new cheapskates. Anyone have any input on this subject? Should I not use them?

Thanks for the help in advance.

I did not take any before I left his house. On my drive home though I started thinking about it so I wanted to ask you all. I will get some picks up tomorrow.

Just don't want to power it up and start moving it around till I know for sure if you know what I mean.

Have not heard of a new effector to go along with the new cheapskates so I tend to think they are the same dimension between the arms. Perhaps something got assembled incorrectly during this build? As Jim said, pictures would probably reveal the answer.

The Trick Laser CF arms do work with the new molded plastic carriages.
See the attached picture, do you have nuts and brass washers installed on threaded rod axle as shown?
Space between brass washers should be same top and bottom, aprox. 37mm.
As long as top and bottom is the same, it does not have to be exactly 37.

Please send photos of your build so I can help you better.

Also, the washers SeeMeCNC sends with kit to clamp axles in carriage barely grip, be sure to use larger diameter washers. We send larger washers with the CF arms. In the photo stock washer is on left, ours is on the right.
