Bearing Flashing
I skipped cutting the flashing from these as it seemed like a waste of time. None of the bearings that have the covers have parts that contact that area. I didn't to risk cutting into to the face of the cover just for having it look cleaner. Am I wrong that nothing contacts here?

Re: Bearing Flashing
I didn't "cut the flashing off. What I did was run my nail over the edge and it took the flashing right off. The only issue I could really see is that it could cause a problem when putting the cover on the bearing. If the flashing folded over and was trapped, it could cause a high spot on the cover. Otherwise the flashing appears to be in a non-contact area so won't affect performance.
