Nope - nothing at all. I was concerned about this too, but the gear rotates accurate on the "shorter" motor axle. Print outs come out well - or even better. At least they are being printed so quiet that it makes me feel that the hot end moves with less vibrations. Not sure about this fact but as mentioned - it appears to me. Definitely worth trying.
Now I still struggle with the extruder motor: I've placed some rubber pads between the extruder motor ass. and the vertical laminate plate that comes down from top. The motor opening seems to be the problem as it is very accurate and the motor touches the laminate on it's side. I'll increase the motor cut-out now on the vertical laminate plate and hope to have a improvement.
I somehow hesitate to do a "flying struder" - as the vertikal lifts x and y need to carry the extruder weight as well with some sort of rubber strings. Looks kind of funky to me...
