Hi Everyone,
I have a Rostock Max v2(with the older arms). I have always had great luck and constantly impressed everyone that saw the prints it knocked out.
I moved it from my shop to my house and it sat at my house for a good 3 months before I got the print bug and set it all up again. I used the same computer and settings. It printed horribly so I bought a brand new E3d v6 hotend, went through and checked all the connections, did the PID tune and made sure everything looked perfect on paper.
Unfortunately, no matter what slicer I use within MatterControl all prints stop at about 1/4in of build hight. When I say stopped, I mean the filament gets jammed but the printer keeps going like there is still filament coming out. Up until it hits that 1/4in it prints great. No gaps, no strands and everything looks great.
Here are the things I tried while troubleshooting:
1. Replaced the thermistor
2. Replaced the hobbed bolt
3. Tried multiple filaments both brand and color
4. Replaced the bowden tube and fittings
5. Tried upping the hotend temp (its set at 230c) right now
6. Done the MatterControl leveling multiple times
7. With retraction and without
8. With a part fan and without
9. Multiple items printed along with slicing programs
10. I sat and watched the hotend temp and it never goes below 234 when set to 235
Its really driving me crazy because I can't thing of anything that would cause the filament to jam at the exact same spot no matter what I print! Any ideas would be great- thanks everyone!
Drew

Re: Printing stops!
It seems like it might be a problem with the tube path becoming too bent/constricted. Do you mind posting a few pictures of your setup, including once it's stopped?

Re: Printing stops!
Sure- I will take a few pics of the setup and right after it jams again. I just don't know why this would happen at the exact same spot every time- especially since nothing other than the hotend has been changed from the perfection it used to produce!
