I have recently upgraded my Rostock V2 Hotend to the HE280, it is a stock HE280 with the accl board and standard fans.
I also have the EZStruder that is stock, with a heat sink planted on the back of it.
I have been having issues with long prints and blobbing or trees. Also since starting with PLA a spider's web of stringing.
Seemecnc Rambo board with latest seemecnc repetier loaded on to it.
Upgraded bed to a machined flat aluminum plate with PEI laminate on top.
Filament is 1.75mm Matterhackers White PLA HE at 209
Nozzle is standard 0.5mm
The issue I believe is in the Hotend, not the EZStruder, however not ruling it out.
The filament will jam and the EZStruder will grind down on the filament.
I left the last jam in place and cooled the HE down. Once cool I heated to only 150 and removed the filament, below is a picture of the filament after I removed it.

My retract setting is 3mm (it was 8.8mm before I read that it was too excessive)
Retract speed is 60 mm/s
Z lift is 1.5mm
Extra Length is .1mm

Re: HE280 EZStruder Jam Session
The bowden tube isn't fully seated into the hot end.
