One of the pontoons failed and it rolled over after landing. Once you dunk one in salt water, it's all over but the cryin'. Nobody was hurt fortunately.
I went looking for doors once on eBay. Those people are insane. I found a plastic door *skin* (just a cosmetic bit) and they wanted $450 EACH for them. I suspect someone told them they were made from ground unicorn horn bound together with a resin made from the tears of a virgin politician.

A virgin politician?
They would be as rare as an honest politician!
They're even MORE rare. Even an honest politician has screwed
somebody.

Very Good Point!

You know, the big 'PartDaddy' machine is supposed to be on exhibit at the AirZoo in Kalamazoo, MI, this winter. @teoman it works! @predawnsky Is that the mancave in the basement? Looks like a nice setup for working on projects @emile1138 see you at work tomorrow. And eagle, I decided to blurt out all of this in one post so I don't get to close to your posting record...

Stop by the next time you're in town. I've got an Oculus Rift DK2 VR headset that'll blow your mind.

Oculus rift?! Jealous...
I found out yesterday that my dad is in the midst of (tying to) create a full motion platform for a simpit...
I'll let you know in 20 years when he finishes.

Just kidding. More like ten years. He was saying something about an inverted deltabot design for the platform, to which I raised my eyebrow... do simpits really need that kind of positional accuracy? haha. Okay I just asked him, it's a stewart platform he's making and he has most of the parts already haha.... so this might be fun. I see in my future the printing of many avionics console replicas...

Stewart platforms are pretty easy to build and very difficult to drive properly. What is he using for positioners?
