(Bone) funny...
So, I fixed the solder nightmare and added crimps. Cleaned up the wiring a bit (I would definitely change the manual to read: do not use ties downs on the columns for the hot end wires until wiring job is completed and hot end installed). It's a pain to move those wires around but it's possible when done with care and finesse. It makes for a much cleaner job (the measurements) when done after installing the hot end. Remember: the (vast majority of) peops who are using the guide have never assembled a printer, so "experience" (with this model, I mean) doesn't exist. The instructions call for 2 1/2 inches being okay, but the length needs to be fine tuned for a truly slick appearance.
Just saying.
Oh, and I guess this would be another place to put a simple line of explanation (for those of us who always question), such as: USE the crimps; do not solder the ends. When the printer is in operation solder WILL melt or evaporate. Luck, or lack of it, will determine how much damage will result.

scooter it.

Another note on the wiring, if adjustments to the length of wire on either side of the extrusion need to be made, it very difficult once installed. I had the cheapskates all setup and I had to take the off, along with the belts and bearings so that I could pull on the wires through some more for the required side. A noted minimum length of wire on both sides of the extrusion before installation would be nice. I still had to go out to Lowes and get two more feet of 18AWG wire to finish wiring up the RAMBo.
