Autocal Jackhammer
Autocal Jackhammer
I've had my Rostock Max v3 for a little over two weeks. Running the G29 autocal works for the most part but once in awhile it does a jackhammer thing on one of the axis, usually Z but more X as of late. Today, I cannot seem to get it to get past axis X. It does a small hammer at first, then seems to get worse each try. I would manually calibrate it if I knew how, but I didn't see that in the documentation. Is this hammering a common occurrence?

Re: Autocal Jackhammer
It is a common issue on this forum. It should not happen and is a sign that something is wrong.
First thing may be that your belts are not tight.
It could also be the that connector to the hot end is partially loose. That causes the accelerometer probe to fail every so often so that the machine does not detect the bed on calibration and keeps pushing the head down after it hits the build plate.
