Error compiling for board Arduino/Genuino Mega or Mega 2560.

Hi Everyone:
After not printing for almost a year, I found I can no longer connect to my Rostock Max V2 through MatterControl since Arduino was deleted from my Mac, so I decided to start from scratch and upload the latest firmware to my printer. Everything seemed to be fine clearing the Eeprom and changing configurations in the firmware to match the V2, until I try to upload the firmware to the printer when I get an error message that reads "Error compiling for board Arduino/Genuino Mega or Mega 2560." My display is now blank with 2 rows of blocks. Has anyone else experience anything like this? I'd hate to think my V2 is dead in the water.
