I am getting a little frustrated with the repetier host software. I have EEPROM enabled and I am only able to successfully access the EEPROM menu one out of every five times. The rest of the times it crashes. Doesn't matter if I do the menu select or send the g-code command. What I do see is that when it crashes some of the areas where a number should be has the description of the following line also in the box. Just makes zeroing the printer a hassle. Always had the problem with EEPROM crashes.
I am running polygonhell's firmware. A couple of weeks old. And windows 7 64bit.

Re: Repetier host crash on EEPROM
There is very little magic in the host applications. You are not the only one who has had inexplicable issues with RH. The "tried and true" host is Pronterface. Been around, works great and is pretty stable. No EEPROM to worry about - upload and go. And, it has a cool way to add new buttons to do all sorts of useful things. I was a Pronterface groupie. I ONLY switched for the EEPROM feature. If you know what it is and how to use it (and if it works on your machine) then it can save a lot of time recompiling-uploading to test and tune configurations.

Re: Repetier host crash on EEPROM
I may have to look into it. I do like the EEPROM feature but it gets frustrating real quick. Makes it difficult to verify that the upload went through.
What it appears to be is that the host is dropping end of line commands. Makes me question if the EEPROM is being written to correctly. I haven't tried another computer which may be an option.
I think I am going to have to bite the bullet and revert back to compiling and uploading with the EEPROM deactivated.

Have you tried forcing ASCII protocol in the printer setup dialog? I had to revert to this. Now that I know the screen saver was causing issues, I'll change back and see how it goes.
