Got a Rostock MAX from my lovely wife for my 40th birthday, and I can't wait to get it printing. Have 2 Prusa i1's first built in 2011. I now teach 3D printing and 3D modeling at the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts, and I organize the Kalamazoo Makers Guild Meeup Group.

First question: to edge paint, or not. Pros/cons?

That's a hell of a great wife you have. As far as paint goes I guess it depends on what you like. I got the black one and you can't tell, the white shows more. If your worried about moisture I guess it would depend on climate but with all of the cut outs in the "wood" I can't see that coverinv just the edges would make a huge difference. Just my opinion.

Hey! I'm also in Kalamazoo. My experience with 3D printing is strictly commercial, having had many rapid prototypes built for work or research. I've followed the development of "home" 3D printers for a few years and I'm finally looking into getting one for myself soon.
