what were you speeds and temps?


looks pretty good to me!

30 mm/s, 215 hot end, 60 on the bed till the bottom 3 layers were down then dropped to 40 for the rest of the print.
0.3mm layer, vase setting in Slic3r.
It has a hologram effect to it, changes as you tilt/turn it.
I am very happy with it

The only thing that I don't like about the nylons and pet materials so far is the low speeds required. I can run ABS at 140 mm/s and get great results, so 30 mm/s is as if the machine is sitting still.

Other than that, they look great!

The larger one ... I bumped up the speed to (30mm/s) x 120% and bumped the temp up to 220.
The first 3 layers don't like the speed. Had to do them at 30mm/s and slicer slows it down to 30% of that
so 10mm/s on them. Looking at them real close I can't see any diff in what the speed or temp did.

Are you using dye methods like you do for nylon?

Ummm... I use a Sharpie
If you mark only 1 side of the filament it gives a really good optical effect as you tilt it up/down.
Diff effects depending on what side you mark. Colors may change when you print, red sharpie makes a good Gold
You can see the color through the clear part of each layer.
I can "see" through the tikiman... but can't make the picture show it.

Backlit with a white LED and tilted a bit.

My brain sploded.

Eric from Trick Laser showed me a tglase stretchlet that failed, and that stuff it strong! The strip that he had was only about 1/4" wide, it stretched into about a 12" diameter circle, and I bet that it would have held my body weight!

Definitely going to buy some.

OK... I just couldn't splain how good this colored t-glass looks

This is how I sharpie-colored the Tiki man t-glass.
In the photo I used PLA for its contrast. You can see it is a small thin stripe.
That lil thin red stripe made the gold color on the tiki man.

To color the wine bottle in the video,
I wrapped the clear t-glass around a 4inch pvc pipe and colored it.
The print .. well the green didn't show that well, but anyway I don't think I would do it this way again.

oh man! this looks so cool!

i got my Rmax almost completed now, only the hot end needs to be mounted, waiting for monday so i can buy some high temp sillicone and kepton tape and some wires need to be... wired.
lcd works already and the arms move beautifully
bought it 2 weeks ago, took more than a week for shipping across the atlantic. I also got myself some ABS, PLA and a spool of red T-glass. the printer is here now but i don't have any of the filament yet...
i want to do this kind of coloring aswell, do i just mark/dye the surface of the spool for a certain amount of filament length to make the colors change?
by the way, i think red might not be the best color for that, right?

What particular T-glase did you use here? Maybe it's like this one http://www.3d2print.net/shop/product/ta ... ase-clear/. As what I've know, glase is very strong; yet it's very different from nylons as it hardens like PLA and ABS. BTW, that's an amazing PLA and T-glase experiment.

yea this post was before they had colored t-glase. now they have clear, red, blue, and green

This looks awesome! What color T-Glass filament did you use for this one? It looks like multiple colors.
