Odd layer or starvation issues

Attached are a few photos of some recent prints. One is a vase that I stopped around 60% into the printing, you can see there are a lot of holes etc in the side walls. Then there is a figure I printed, and the although parts of it looked ok, the top really was messed up. Any suggestions?
These were all sliced with slic3r, 240 temp, ABS, 1.02 multiplier.
Thanks!

Well if you're trying to print coral, it looks great! :)

It looks to me like the extruder is starving. What temp are you at? What material? Have you tried slowing it down?

Exactly.... haha some good looking coral!

It was at 235 temp, ABS, and this was around 30mm/sec or so, which isn't really that fast.

What do you have your filament diameter set to? If it's at 1.75, cut off about 2 meters of filament and take sample measurements in 10 spots with a digital caliper. Average the results and stick that in your slicer as the filament diameter.
