New firmware heats up both extruders

Hi everyone,
I just switched to the new firmware that SeeMeCNC put out on November 6th, and I noticed that it heats up both the primary and the secondary extruders (if a second one is plugged in). I have an E3D hotend mounted to my effector plate and the default nozzle is temporarily sitting on the side of the printer, out of use. When I start a print, both nozzles heat up to the target temperature even though my firmware is configured so that there is only one extruder. The older firmware didn't do this, and I think this new thing is a bug.
It just noticed it on my first print with the new firmware because the default extruder started smoking and burning the cork board it's sitting on. Luckily I caught it but it could have burned down the building.....
On the bright side, the new firmware hasn't caused any retract fails yet, while the old firmware constantly did. It seems a lot smoother and a little bit more quiet.
