Printing time skips ahead?

So, I'm working towards printing in PLA (struggling to find a good cooling fan mount) and have been uploading a lot of files to my new Orion. I just noticed that it's now reporting 80+ days of print time at startup; I've barely had it a week! RepetierHost seems like it might think that uploading to the SD card is the same as printing - it estimates that uploads will take as long as the file's print time, although it's always much faster. Could it be that Repetier is adding to my machine's run time when it uploads? Also, is my odometer running forward like this going to bite me in the ass, say if I ever need to do an exchange? :s

Thanks,
~Joe

Yours is an interesting question, one that I don't remember ever seeing on the forum.
I am not sure if uploading a file to the SD card while it is in the printer adds to the total print time or not and when I google it I can find nothing on the subject.
Most users find that uploading to the SD card while it is in the printer is too slow and it is usually recommended to remove the card from the printer and upload to it
using a card reader / writer. As far as the total printing time readout effecting the value of the printer I don't think that it is a concern. I doubt that most people even
know that a printer can track that value and if they did little attention would be placed on it. At this point it is not like an odometer on a car.

Cool, thanks. I didn't think it would be a big issue but I'm having so many weird little hiccups getting things tuned that anything seems suspect at this point. Not sure where those 80 days came from - I've been watching the serial logs this morning as I upload new test files and it's only jumped up twice out of the five uploads I've done this morning.

It probably does track upload time, when you do it through the host, it runs through the code exactly like it's printing, does the binary conversion etc.
