Well, I just had a moment of pure genius. I have an almost new roll of ABS that I hadn't used in a while, so I thought I'd stick it in the oven to dehydrate it a bit. Normally I just set it to minimum temp (170f), stick in the filament, and then take it out after a while...but this time I turned off the oven *but forgot to take it out*. Several hours later I wanted to bake a pot pie, and the box said preheat at 400.

When the preheat timer went off, I opened the oven door to find a very sad looking roll of filament.

ROTHFLMAO! That is one of the best I have heard. It's hell to be human and make those kind of mistakes.
I hope you got to eat your pot pie!

A pot pie... do you mean a pie stuffed with pot ?

And I'm mad at myself when I cook a pizza on the cardboard.

"Once" knew a guy who would use the environmental chamber at work to cook his personal pizza's at lunch.

And, we would heat soak plastics and elastomers in agg chemicals and fuels in the same chamber.

In the mid to late 70's, Intel suddenly had a horribly bad yields on some chip runs. They decapped some failed parts and were finding organic matter on the die!

It turns out there was a new night janitor and he was using one of the curing ovens to heat his lunch...

It may not look too bad, but here and there the filament is slightly fused together. At least this wasn't a roll of really great stuff.

...and the pot pie was delicious.

Don't look at it as ruining a roll of ABS. Look at it as discovering a whole new source for ABS Slurry.
