Extruder temperture

Going through the machine again to get printing I found a problem that I am not sure how to correct.

Hot end is E3D V6

Getting ready to print T-Glase with Bed at 60 C and Extruder set to 215C
Orion LCD panel reads set points correctly.

Bed goes to 60C and I measure within 1 degree with hand held non contact thermometer

Extruder temp with the thermometer is reading temperature exactly but in degrees F

So instead of 215C I am getting 215F

I know the thermometer isn't that accurate but it is close enough to tell me I have a problem.

Before I delve into the firmware for the hot end settings any thoughts?

Thanks,
Pete

It sounds as if you have the wrong thermistor in your hotend.
Let the printer cool down so that every thing is a room temperature.
Hopefully you have a half decent meter that can read ohms.
The resistance of the hotend thermistor should be approximately 100K when you measure its leads with the ohm-meter.
Please report back with the value you read.
By the way the thermistor for the hotend should be unplugged from the Rambo when measuring.

Hi again :)
Yes I do have a good ohm meter. I'll take apart and measure.

Weird because apparently it was printing pla until I just updated the PID using matter control.
Forgot that important tidbit of info.
For info here was the old values and then new values I input after PID tuning.
Old:
P 31.36
I 2.18
D 112.9
New E3d hot end
P17.27
I 2.61
D 28.54
Not sure if that helps.
I'll take her apart and measure the thermistor ohms.
Thanks for the quick reply again Eaglezsoar.

Thermistor reads 100K ohms unplugged.

I still measure EXACTLY deg F on the hot end with the non contact thermometer instead of deg C.

Thoughts?

Thanks,
Pete
