I assume this probably happens a lot since the manual clearly says not to over tighten in a lot of places. I searched but couldn't find what most people do in this situation when it;s pretty minor. I just slightly collapsed a few of the pockets for nuts in a support and in a motor mount. it doesn't seem to have affected anything but it still bothers me knowing they are there. I noticed some people have used the github laser cut files to get some acrylic pieces done. Has anyone actually printed new pieces for the base?

What's stopping you from printing replacement pieces?

You can use the github files to get your X and Y measurements. You know the Z height will be 1/4" thick (roughly anyways; I've measured mine and it's a little more in reality).

That was I was getting at. Sorry I didn't make that clear. I was also just trying to find out if anyone had done this and if they had any suggestions. Thanks for explaining how to get them printed I didn't realize I could go about it that way.

I'm about to have MakerGeeks.com quote making parts for my second extruder. SeeMeCNC says they're not making a v2 version of the kit of parts since hardly anyone bought the v1 kit.

If it is not a problem, I would not worry about it.

When/if the time comes to replace it, you will be full of ideas and create an upgraded part.

You can have TrickLaser quote the wooden parts too.

The files are drawn for .270" thick melamine.

A trick to strengthen the melamine core is to soak in some water thin CA glue. I use Mercury Adhesives M5T thin viscosity CA

Regular viscosity CA that you find at your local hardware will not wick into the melamine core.
You could remove screw and wick glue into the crushed area, that will fix it.

The github files are 2D .dxf for laser cutting or Solid Works .SLDPRT files, if you need printable .stl of a specific part I can create that for you.
