Could this kit be used on the Rostock Max V2?
Has anyone tried it?
The arms are a little shorter (244mm), would this be fixed by simply modifying the firmware config?

Have you contacted http://www.spiderbot and asked them if they could supply longer carbon rods, they would need to be about 270mm which gives you room to cut
them equally by the whatever you determine to be the center of ball to the center of the other ball which needs to equal 269mm?

The centers of the balls would be about 250 or 255 if you use the stock arms which is to short.

It sure looks pretty.

You could definitely use it, but mounting it might take some modifications, and as Eagle pointed out the arms are shorter. Your printable area would decrease as a result.

Hey all thanks for the reply.
Would a decreased print area be the only consequence of using the shorter arms?

The product page also says "Product sold only as upgrade for SpiderBot owners." How would you even get it?

Shorter arms and a smaller spacing between the arms make the effector more prone to not being where its supposed to be on the outer edges of the print area. It makes the carriage to effector connection less rigid. JFettig designed a mod for use with the TL arms that increases the spacing between the arms, I am using this mod. rpress bought 288mm rods from TriDPrinting (stock is 269) and got a similar result.

The spacing between the rods doesn't affect the print area "in any way" (to an extent of course), while the length does. Longer arms lower the build height and increase the build radius while shorter arms increase the height and decrease the radius (also to an extent).

I talked to this guy and he has ZERO interest in providing his upgrade kit. It's a great solution and I like the concept of the three balls not six on the effector plate.

Maybe we can convince someone to build this for the rostock....

Why do people try to sell things that they hate selling? Makes no sense.
