Hi all,

I have a V1 RMax. I dismantled most of the printer, in order to square everything up again.
In the process of checking the towers, I created a tool that allows me to finely check the distance between them.

It appears that distance between X and Y is longer than the other 2. I then tried to pull back Z, in order to compensate for that, but I still have a bit less than a millimeter of difference.

Is it critical ? Do you guys have it also ? Do you pay attention to that when squaring the printer ?

I recommend squaring the posts to the wood with an accurate carpenter square, before the heatbed is assembled. This is what is most commonly done.
There are several ideas running around of what constitutes a "square" printer but the method above is the most common. After squaring tighten the screws
and make sure the tower does not move out of square while tightening. Assemble the top pieces and tighten the screws at the top. Check one more time
that the posts are still square and proceed to assemble the heat bed.

They should definitely be equidistant. Check the holes in the top plate to see if they measure out the same. Its possible that the file had some shifted perimeters when they laser cut it. You might have to experiment with tower offsets in the eeprom once you're calibrating. See the "unsolved mystery" thread.

Yes, Eagle, the towers are square to the base, this was my main concern.

Since the poles are fitted correctly in the wood, I do believe there is an issue with the laser cut.

The unsolved mistery is a long thread I never read...I'll have a look.
