Hi All,
I've got a Rostock Max V2 with a Prometheus V2 Hot end and a 1mm nozzle which I got from DisTech Automation. I've had really good service from Eric! The nylon I'm using came from Seascans.
I have a sheet metal forming business and I want to print dies for my bead roller. I went with the big nozzle because I won't be printing any fine details and the dies are fairly large, around 3" in diameter. I also want to print them with a solid infill for strength, so the 1mm nozzle should print them at an acceptable speed.
Initially, the Nylon was popping, so I chucked it in the oven at 200* F for 12 hours and that cleared up. Now, it prints with no popping, but I'm having layer adhesion problems, and the nozzle rubs on previous layers as it prints.
I'm printing at 285* at a speed of 25mm/s and .4 mm layer height. Bed temp is 80* Seascans recommends printing at temps between 240-280, but lower temps don't seem to work. When I try printing any faster than 25mm/s the nylon comes out of the nozzle and doesn't even stick to the layer below it. So, I'm at a bit of a loss. I could keep cranking up the heat, but I don't know if that's the solution. Any assistance would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Robin

With the bigger nozzles you have to turn up the heat and slow down a bit. I do no thave any experience with nylon or a 1mm nozzle to comment if those are suitable.
Do you have an enclosure for the printer? That could help with layer adhesion. It did on my abs parts.

Thanks for the advice. I don't have an enclosure, and the shop is a bit cool at around 18*C. I'll give that a try. I did have issues with a breeze while printing ABS, and a makeshift shield helped.

An ikea cupboard from the junk section helped me immensely
