24 volt upgrade has lights flickering

I really like the 24 volt upgrade to my v2.

I am using an Crydom D1D40 SSR to send 24 volts to the heated bed.

One thing I noticed is that the fluorescent lights in my room are flickering... virtually the same way the red leds on the bed and controller board flicker whenever the Onyx is heating.

Any thoughts as to what might be causing this? I think I've got it wired correctly (all the polarities seemed correct based on previous forum posts).

Any thought on how to stop the flickering? Have I missed something?

Your outlets might be on the same circuit as the lights, which may not be code, depending on where you live and when it was built. They're at least on the same phase, it seems. Do you get different results plugged in to different circuits in different rooms?

I guess that some sort of an EMF thing might be going on as well. I'm not sure how much of a broadcasting antenna the Onyx Bed is, I've never thought about it that way before.

Remember kids, building code is the worst that you're legally allowed to build something :)

Almost everything on this floor is on one circuit. The house was built in 1908 <s>

I don't recall the lights flickering before going to the 24 volt approach, so it's not likely the Onyx bed itself.

Except that you're drawing 4 times the wattage now.
