Re: Renovating a Printrbot LC v1

So the printer is taller now. I still need to extend the wires. But first, let's take care of the dead power supply.

I took a new PSU out of the box and immediately voided its warranty!

Re: Renovating a Printrbot LC v1

I switched my phone>cloud provider from Dropbox to Google Drive and somehow lost a few files. It's back and running so here is the log (so far). Decided to cut the smooth and threaded rods with a hacksaw. A contractor at the hardware store I bought them from told me to put the nut on the threaded ro...

Renovating a Printrbot LC v1

My Printrbot LC v1 was my first printer and it has fallen into a state of neglect for the past few months. I am (finally) off for winter break and I'll be spending (most) of this week restoring it to it's original condition and adding some modifications along the way.

Re: BETA testers discussion

John confirmed that the hole location to mount the Arduino is basically a bug in the beta kits. Expect it to be fixed. The goal is to mount the Arduino with the USB connector sticking out the side port for it. It is a nice arrangement. The power wires from the gShield are in the way if you wanted t...

Re: mhackney's Beta DropLit build

The ONLY software I've found to control these printers is CreationWorkshop. Anyone find anything else? CreationWorkshop is (so far) the only open source SLA control software. You might find an interesting idea within using Creation on a RasPi and hook the RasPi up to the projector via HDMI. Just an...

Re: BETA testers discussion

Ok, I have no idea how to run an SLA printer! Why is there a home switch then? I thought you would set the Z height like on a filament printer. The switch is a limit switch, not a home switch. It's for when the carriage gets to the top. To zero your machine, slowly manually turn the threaded rod un...

Re: BETA testers discussion

Chewy64 and I had a hangout last night and built 90% of our droplits. We began at 9PM and concluded at 12:15AM. Therefore, some of our notes are going to be the same. Notes: -mirror holder needs a nut and screw to hold it in place. It will fall out during travel/transport otherwise -the projector ba...

One box came today - but had two UPS "notices" via email. However they had the same tracking number - so must have been a duplicate email. My kit was complete other than a build vat - so far as I can see. If there is a "second" box it could only be the build vat... if that is in...

mhackney: Let me know how the video was, if you followed it, I'm always open to feedback. robably not a bad idea to remove the color wheel anyway. According to Guanu the color wheel removal is unnecessary. I left it out of the video because of that. Recent print he did (without a color-wheel removal...

IIRC, the nylon screw leftovers you have are supposed to attach the PSU (similar to the nylons used for the RoMax v2/Orion 2014 PSU)

I know Ponoko has it. Also, I hope I don't come across negative with my comments, so I apologize if I do or did. That said, I do have a significant background in formulating UV resins for different applications (see my LinkedIn profile: https://www.linkedin.com/in/sgraber?_mSplash=1" onclick=&...
