Re: Diary of a RoStock Max V2 print

everyone, looks like the V6 is spotty as far as good prints go. seems like most of op's frustration is with his hotend. I now print only ABS with my V6. considering it is the easiest filament to get right does not suprise me that it works. I just don't have time to dink with a crappy hot end. I know...

Re: Diary of a RoStock Max V2 print

the only thing my E3DV6 is good for is ABS, it sucks with PLA and PETG. stock hot end is awesome with ABS and PLA, PETG prints close to same temp as ABS so it should work. honestly if you are never going to do other exotic filaments that need temps that would melt the PEEK section, just use the stoc...

a few things... 1- the fan on the peek section on my max was cooling too much. I added a potentiometer to the peek fan circuit so I could change the speed of the fan. you can also change fan speed in the firmware. 2- did you adjust the horizontal radius per geneb manual? 3- you z height will shift i...

@TFmike, the metal effector came with mount for the trick trucks. so they are from Brian. @eaglezsoar I was reading thru a few threads, particularly the one where we were discussing longer arms. JFettig had mentioned he would take 300 or 325 mm arms , the longer the better. as I understood his reaso...

thanks for the input fellas... a few days of back and forth with ultimachine produced an RMA and a free repair I hope. apparently the ESD ? chip which handles the usb to serial interface can get blown if it is an earlier model. if your serial number does not have a "P" in it then it does n...

its over 2 years old.... it is a 1.2 from a V1.... I will see what ultimachine can do for repair. on the other hand if I can get a better performing board for the same price and you don't have to be a software wizard to get it running it might be nice to have something "better"

go back to the manual and follow the instructions for setting your Z zero height. after you set the new z zero run your z back up using the potentiometer, when you get really close to the top use the home tower function on the lcd. after homing check your z height on the lcd. I had to add a thin plastic shim to my clamps from the get go. seems that belt thickness varies, which is odd considering its a "spec" belt. I actually used a plastic straw flattened.

a print shifting is almost always a mechanical issue. you did not say which max you have. first check the effector platform and every single nut and screw, including the big nut that holds the nozzle to the effector. then work your way up to the cheapskates again and everything in between. if you ha...

Re: corsair 750 watt p.s. and the 5 volt rail

ok guys thanks I have a 5 watt 12 ohm resistor I can use, that should not draw too much current. I was just gonna zip tie it directly to the fan on top of the power supply. +1 on the 5 volts for something usb. I am planning o octoprint in the future. already have the pi B and the screen ordered. so reading thru some other forums there seems to be some consensus on adding a resistor to the 5 volt rail of an atx power supply to help it provide better power.
