Re: ABS "Heated" Layer fan for large prints **IDEA**
One watchout - I think 75C is above the max operating environment temperature for the steppers we're using. I'm kicking around the heated chamber idea in my head a little, and I'm considering moving the extruder above the top plate to be safe. Good point, I just accuired an incubator PID controler ...

Re: ABS "Heated" Layer fan for large prints **IDEA**
Just a note on optimal temperature for heated build chambers. I have been using one of the high end machines at work for years and it keeps the build volume at 75 deg C for ABS. The build platforms are plastic so they quickly heat up to the temperature of the build chamber and fans move the air aro...

Re: Tapatalk Forum app for smart phones
The F-15E isn't only FBW. The little grey box under the stick has a load cell in it that feeds the CAS, but if you turn the CAS switches off, you'll be mechanical-only. (Imagine driving a Cadillac with four flat tires and you'll get an idea of the no-CAS performance. :D ) On the other side of the c...

vibration attenuation with hollow tubes.
Just wanted to throw out a trick i've used in the past to attenuate vibrations in a hollow high rpm rc helicopter tail rotor drive shaft. I would fill the tube about 1/3 to 1/2 with a high viscosity silicon fluid. "Fluidamper" this helped tremendously by being very dynamic. Basically the r...

Re: ABS "Heated" Layer fan for large prints **IDEA**
It's interesting to think about. and I suppose would only be useful for wide and tall structures that get farther away from the heat on the bed. currently the Layer fans cool the ABS too much, but if that fan was able to provide a constant flow of hot air at low pressure at the fresh layers I wonder...

ABS "Heated" Layer fan for large prints **IDEA**
I've been reading a lot about Effector fans lately. ( Researching before I purchase the Rostock Max) I understand about the "Peek Fan " for Hotends with Peek material I understand PLA likes to have a layer fan and ABS does not. I understand ABS likes to have a heated bed to keep the part w...

I'm set my sights on the Rostock Max because: Kit form price allows me entry into this field for a home printer. Design ( what can I say ? the Delta format is so darn SCI-FI looking !! I love it.) Potential Resolution 20-50 micron possibility sounds amazing ( the journey to try and achieve that res ...
