Re: Calibration of infills
Ok, the print just finished,. I reduced the infill speed from 60mm/s to 45mm/s, and its a little bit better, but the infill still doesn't touch the perimeters in all places. I have uploaded a video I took while the print was busy with an infill layer. Hopefully that will help as well to identify the...

Re: Calibration of infills
Its not 100% round, but its pretty close. If I secure the calipers on 20mm and try to rotate the object inside, it moves freely. Im going to turn down the infill speed and see what happens. Thanks

Re: Calibration of infills
ok, I just printed a circular object. I watched closely while it printed and it seems the extruder head is not moving all the way to the side when it is printing the infill. What is strange though is that the very first layer is perfect.

Calibration of infills
I have been calibrating my h1 for the last few days, and the layer height finally seems correct. I started with the infill calibration but something is weird. The infill is not touching the perimeters of the object. I changed my Extruder multiplier to 1.1, but it didn't fix the issue. My prints seem...

Re: First few Prints
Yeah, thats my next step. To slow down the print speed though, I guess this is done in slicer? From what I can see there are quite a few settings that I can play with.

Re: Quality issues
One thing I noticed (By accident) is that you could get extremely detailed prints if you reduce your steps per mm by 50%, and scale your model to 200% in slicer. The print does take double the amount of time, but the results are astonishing. The way I came across this was with my first calibration b...

First few Prints
Finally got my printer calibrated (sort of). Here are my first few calibration block prints (The one outlined is the final block I printed this weekend) 2012-09-09 20.53.38.jpg 2012-09-09 20.53.59.jpg And here is my first object (Portal companion Cube). The details on the top did not print as well a...

Dude, your a genius. Thanks. That solved it. The print also starts in the center of the board as well.

Optimal Slicer settings
Hi Guys, I have been playing around with slicer and something is weird. I have been printing the 20mm cube, but it prints at 50% scale. I haven't changed anything in slicer though. I have attached my slicer config current config.ini I tried printing the companion cube from thingiverse (I scaled the ...

Yeah, I think it will probably melt at some stage, but its worth a shot. If all else fails, I will just have it made from aluminium. I used google sketchup 8. Its so easy to use.

Re: Hotend assembly tutorial
I havn't printed with Abs yet, only pla, and so far the solder seems to hold out. I used lead free solder which in theory only melts at 280 and more. From what I understand abs melts at 250, so there is more or less a 30 degree "safe zone" - if you can call it that. Currently I am experime...

Belt Tensioner
Hi Guys, I'm pretty sure this type of design was made by someone else in the past, but this is my version. Once I get my printer up and running, this will be the first of many upgrades I have in mind. This design uses 5 printed parts and 2 aluminum brackets. The 2 green parts are glued together, the...

Re: Beginner Questions
Hi balota, The H1 is based of the RepRap Huxley. The resolution of any RepRap printer (including the H1) is up to the amount of time/effort you are willing to spend on calibrating/modifying your printer. I have read on forums some people printing at 0.2mm layer height. It might even be possible to g...

Re: A Axis not working
Tracing the circuits seems that the easydriver wont work on the 4 axis board. My windows xp has started crashing tonight so I will format it tomorrow. I doubt that it is causing the issue though. I read on the reprap wiki that some of these 4 axis boards have the 4th axis enable pin on the d15 port,...

Re: A Axis not working
No reply from seemecnc yet. I have downloaded the manuals for both boards in the mean time. It seems the 4 pins on the 3 Axis board is not present on the 4 Axis board, however it does look like the 4 Axis board has the holes for the pins. I might be able to buy a 4 Pin Wire-To-Board connector and so...

Re: A Axis not working
Hi Tom, Yeah I emailed the guys at SeeMeCnc. If the issue is not config related I am going to try and connect an Easy Driver to the 4 Axis board. Since X, Y and Z is working it will be a bit overkill to buy a new board just for that. An EasyDriver is just $15 and it is locally available for me (I li...

Re: A Axis not working
I have done some more searching all over the place and I am starting to think that the A-Axis output is shot. I have connected my board to my pc, started mach 3 and hit the "Reset" button. The X,Y and Z steppers locks into place, but the A Axis can still be turned by hand. I jogged the A a...

A Axis not working
Well, it seems the A Axis port on the board is dead. At first I thought it was the motor wiring, but then I plugged in the x axis motor (which I know works) into the A axis to check if it was the A axis motor, I found that the x axis motor did also not work. Any suggestions? I double checked my conf...

Re: Stuck with Mach 3
Ok, so I have found the issue. For some reason the PC I used does not pick up the parallel card properly. I took out the hard drive from the other pc and moved the parallel card and hard drive to my main pc. Booted xp, and resources tab became available after re-installing the drivers. So I guess fo...

Re: Stuck with Mach 3
While Im waiting for the installation to complete, I want to set my thermostat so long. The IC voltage for PLA should be between 2.5 and 2.8 from what I have read. Now to read this, I need to connect a multimeter to Pin 11 and Pin 12 Right? (Pin 11 is ground as far as I know? )

Stuck with Mach 3
Currently I am having issues with Mach 3. Everything seems to load up fine when launching Mach, but the steppers do not move when jogged. Here is what I have done so far I first read the Mach 3 manual and then proceeded with the installation 1. Installed Windows 7 32 bit on a spare PC I had at home ...
