Reduce warping curl in ABS prints?
So I just got my HBP installed so I can finally start playing with ABS. This is what I'm getting. The bottom cm has some curl warp to it and then the rest of the print looks good. How do I combat the curl/warp. I'm...

Re: how to setup the configuration file for sprinter
You don't program home. When you home in software the x, y, and z axis will travel in the home direction you specified in the firmware. When the endstop is triggered for each axis that is marked as the home position for that axis. The firmware will specify how far away from the endstop in the other ...

Re: Anyone have detailed pictures?
Check your bags. There should be one in there that will fit. I got one that was too small and two that did fit. Only ended up using 1 of the tree if I recall correctly.

I could be wrong, but wouldn't wrapping in aluminum foil cause a short across the foil giving you a bogus temp reading?burro breath wrote:i have the thermistor held in with some aluminum foil so that there is good thermal conductivity and i have made 100% sure there are no shorts

Re: Extra units
My motors hum/buzz if they are engaged, but not moving. Real high pitched and I'm sure if I was 15 years older I probably wouldn't be able to hear it. I think the steppers are running to keep everything stationary (providing torque to keep things from rotating freely). Is there an option to turn off...

Re: increasing steps/mm causes coarse prints
What is your layer height? Reducing Layer height in Slic3r or equivalent will "squish" the extruded material into the previous layer and spread it. Your extruded material should be squished onto the previous layer and not just set on top. There is some adjusting you will need to do to get ...

Re: how to setup the configuration file for sprinter
Do you have the thermistor wires insulated. If they are touching anything metal they may give you a false reading. If I pull on mine just right I'll get a 350C reading. I think it is shorting to the aluminum head. Is the head actually heating? Can you check temp with thermocouple? What is the temp w...

Re: how to setup the configuration file for sprinter
check wiring to make sure you have the hot end in the correct terminals in the board. What is your temp reading in software? Ambient or some other value? Check firmware to see if 100k thermistor is selected? Post a pic of your board with all wiring connected so we can see how you have it setup. http...

Got my whole setup complete. Just need to figure out how I want to mount the heated build plate and then I'm done with mods for a bit.

Re: First Print from the H1.1
Print number 4 complete. Straight off the printer with no cleanup. I'm pretty happy with the quality. That print looks pretty damn good! You are not having any problems with the filament feeding into the extruder? I can't run my printer more then an hour without the filament working its way out bet...

I had parts missing and lots of extra parts after i finished mine. I didn't get that c shaped thing. Wonder what it is for. I did get the biggest Zip-tie I've ever seen, but don't know what it is for either.

Re: First Print from the H1.1
No problem here. That took a little over 3.5 hours to print. I used 1.75mm PLA.
Is your Extruder calibrated? Maybe you are feeding it too fast.

Re: First Print from the H1.1
My Janky filament feeder setup until I get something better setup. Rocking out print number 4 as we speak. Seemecnc spool holder. On about layer 35 of 300 I figured out that it won't fit my spools, but I'll let it print out just to see how it looks. [img]http://i1267.photobucket.com/albums/jj554/rac...

Working Marlin Config
My Marlin Config is below. Pay particular attention to endstop and homing config when using this as your base. My printer has z-endstop and homing at the max position instead of the normal min position. Ramps 1.4 board. Working in Repetier and Pronterface. #ifndef CONFIGURATION_H #define CONFIGURATI...

I'm running Rep host, but I'm using Marlin firmware. If you want I can post my marlin config when I get home this evening. It will at least give you and idea how to setup the repetier firmware.

Re: First Print from the H1.1
Yup first three prints. Pretty happy with the results. I need to print some taller calibration pieces to make sure I have Z dialed in. Also need to calibrate the extruder and temperature still. I put a piece of glass on top of the build surface to flatten it out. I don't think I'd get consistent adh...

Re: how to setup the configuration file for sprinter
Stock sprinter would move the steppers for me out of the box. Maybe redownload sprinter and upload a fresh version to the arduino. did you compile the file in arduino before uploading it to make sure it would work? Did the Green LED on Board flash during the upload? In the firmware check to see what...

Re: how to setup the configuration file for sprinter
I don't think ramps boards are natively compatibly with Mach3 someone could probably get it to work with a substantial amount of hackery. Download repetier host software to control your printer it is made to use with RAMPS. There were drivers that came with the arduino software. Instructions for ins...

Re: First Print from the H1.1
I'm using Slic3r that came with the latest repetier. I'm using repetier to do everything. I like the program. Pronterface handles some things a little better, but useability (newb-ability) is probably better with repetier.michaellatif wrote:Looks good! What slicer are you using?

Calibration tests went from left to right. Too big, too small, and just right.
