Re: Trouble with the heated bed

I'm starting to suspect this most recent problem was a pinched wire. I hadn't pulled the wire all the way back through when I reassembled it, and after doing so it appears to be functioning. That being said, would you recommend upgrading the power supply to better handle the Onyx bed? I'm currently...

Re: Kit to upgrade Rostock Max V2 to MAX SETTINGS!!! (?)

Hi rpress, I'm really curious about that kit, I've been looking at the trick laser arms but if the kit is the same, I think I might do that. A few questions though..
How difficult was the kit to put together?
Does it come with everything needed? If not, what else should I buy to complete?

Sharpie colored vessel

DSC04086.JPG DSC04092.JPG DSC04090.JPG A few of my PLA prints. The Max v2 seems to do really well with thin walled vessels. I'm loving this printer, now I need to get ABS to behave like PLA. Yes vases are a bit boring but I think they're nice to really get acquainted with the slicers in Matter Contr...

Re: Greetings from Maryland

Hi rehabmax, great choice on the Max v2, you'll love this printer! I got some great input on here before making my order. A few of the things that really helped me.. Many on the forum recommended upgrading the PEEK fan immediately, they also recommend upgrading the Rambo fan, I did both and haven't ...

Re: First print!

+1 on the cheapskate adjustment. I went back after my first few prints and re torqued any screw I could get to as well. I found that I was a bit light handed during the initial assembly process. It still feels great to get that first print out after all of the invested hours!

Bed and Hot end settings?

Hi All, I decided to try using sli3er today as I've primarily used matter slicer at this point. I can't seem to find the usual bed and nozzle settings under the "filament" tab. Is this in another location? I can't seem to find it anywhere when I choose sli3er as my slicer.

Re: teach me please

One way to do it once your computer is connected via Matter control
Import "Add" STL to matter control
View the part.. Edit if needed
Export as G code then save to SD card
SD card slot is on left hand side of LCD panel, you can then select a file from the SD card

Re: getting rostock max v2 what should I know

+1 on making sure that you measure 8" from the front of the machine. Also be sure that the top panel goes on in the correct orientation. Mine did not but I was still able to mount my ezstruder and route my filament through a hole I drilled. And yes, I would look into a new PSU before you start ...

Re: Max v2 finally dialed in

Hi Eaglezsoar, I attached the fans with Velcro so I can move if needed.I routed the wiring under the base, it currently comes out where the lexan piece bends out a bit from the bottom base. I think I'm going to clean up the wiring and wire them to my existing layer fan wiring today.I tried several c...

Max v2 finally dialed in

I'm posting a few images of what I've added in the last few days. It took me a bit to get PLA dialed in. You can see in the image that I had to add 3 80 mm layer fans. This has made a huge difference in the quality of my PLA prints. I salvaged 2 from the Diablotek PSU that went out during calibratio...

Re: Rostock Max Hollow Calibration Pyramid Challenge!

Hi Xnaron. I have one fan though it doesn't seem to be blowing much. It's larger one that I put on, someone on the forum recommended this. It seems to be spinning really slowly. I have a few smaller fans sitting around with printed shrouds. Can I just tap into the existing wiring to add more?

Re: Rostock Max Hollow Calibration Pyramid Challenge!

IMG_3444.jpg IMG_3441.jpg IMG_3440.jpg Thought I'd give this a shot. I'm somewhat happy with the outer perimeters but it's a bit blobby on the inner area. It's printed at 198, 60c bed-.20 layer height and 4.5mm retracts. It seems no matter what I do, I can't get pointy areas to work. I have uploaded ...

Re: LCD turning off when I try to start a print?

Very well could be the PSU, my Diablotek went out during calibration. Upon recommendation from JJ of seemecnc, I was able to print my ABS fan shroud without using the heated bed. This worked fine for me until I got my replacement. I bought an EVGA 650w modular and the problems are gone. They sent a ...

Re: What's happening with this print?

Thanks for the help guys. I went in and retightened things, it seems that I wasn't as heavy handed as I usually am when I assembled this printer. I found few things that required a few more turns. I also found another curious thing.. I found that the top of the plastic delta arm hits the hex head bo...

Re: Hot end temp not getting to temp for ABS

Thanks Eaglezsoar and Bentherighteous, I re wrapped the hot end with about 6 more layers of 1/2 inch Kapton tape and the difference is night and day! I really can't believe that it made that much of a difference. The first time I re wrapped, the Kapton fell off due to an insufficient wrapping job, t...

Hot end temp not getting to temp for ABS

Hello All, I've had nothing but questions lately.. Hoping to be able to contribute soon. If my target temp is 230 the hotend will hover between 224-226 and maybe 227.1 at times. If I set a target temp for 240 the temp will then actually go to 227-229 but not higher. Has anyone had this happen and ha...

I third that! I like that design, my shroud now only seems to cool 1/2 of the material.
