My first true failure
I had my first true failure last night. I've had parts break free before but this is somehow different. I stopped the print soon after hearing the sound of the hotend Hitting something. I'm figuring it was either Hotend issue (temp was...

Re: Rostock Maxx in a new home
Ben - So far my longest print has been 2.5 hours. The Thermal Detonator Hemi took about 2 hours to finish and it was depressing when I realized that it broke free. I figure that it was the lack of surface area connected to the bed. Bot - your probably right on not needing supports in the center. I ...

Re: Rostock Maxx in a new home
Ok, raising the Bed tempature helped, to a point. What I am printing is a replica Thermal Detonator from Star Wars (I said I was having fun :P ). The part is basically 2 half sphere 2-5/8" dia. I'm printing them one at a time. First Print - Bed at 80°c, Bare Glass with a coating of stick glue s...

Re: Rostock Maxx in a new home
GAH continuing the calibration. I started to do the calibration using the V2 SE assembly manual. Hmmm, the screens don't match. pull up the V1 manual. { ok, ok, I admit that I skipped over the part about updating the firmware... TWICE or more } The V1 calibration process - as my brain saw it... Alrighty
that didn't work. I tried reinstalling, multiple times, multiple versions. still no filter output toggle. I have tried the SeeMeCNC version and the one off of the Matterhackers website.

MatterControl Terminal Questions
I'm in the process of configuring my MAXX using Matercontrol and the V2 Assembly Guide In the terminal window, they say (and show) that there is a toggle to Filter Output. I do not see that toggle, or anyway menu to turn the feature on/off. [img]http://www.home.comcast.net/~proto//Maxx/MC-term.jpg[/...

I downloaded the V1 build manual which is turning out to be a godsend, at least at how things line up. So far I have the uprights mounted to the base. right now I realize that the designer of the V1 is either an evil genius at building torture devices, or just didn't think about accessing the mounti...

I feel your pain in waiting for your Max to be delivered. According to UPS, mine "Should" be delivered today
After the day of delivery comes the Joy of Building. Or in my case, rebuilding.

Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy...
I just got an email from Cambo, complete with "Tracking Numbers"
When the packages arrive, I may not post anything for a while. I might be a bit per-occupied
EDIT - OMG, I now have to clean up a spot to put it

Re: Microcenter Inland Filament is the same as Toy builder l
off hand, I remember Black, White, Red, Grey, Blue, and maybe green in ABS. In PLA, I remeber all the colors that were in ABS plus Natural (kind of off White/Cream)
Microcenter also had other colors in Makerbot & XYZ
XYZ was about $30 for 60grams
Makerbot seemed to start at $40 for a Kilogram

Re: Microcenter Inland Filament is the same as Toy builder l
well this is fortuitous
I went to Microcenter to buy some ABS. chose the inland purely on price, I didn't want sink a lot of money into filament if I can avoid it.
I was actually going to start a thread about the Inland filament if I hadn't of seen this one.
