Re: Duet and Multi-Color/Multi-Filament Extrusion
So after staring at the boat print with a beer in hand (maybe that was the trick..... the beer), I realized that I'm not really over extruding. If you look at the green arrow you can see that at this specific part, extrusion of the door trim is really quite good without any over extrusion. However, ...

Re: Duet and Multi-Color/Multi-Filament Extrusion
You can see that there is a bit of residual filament (ABS) that mixes. It is closer but I'm not happy yet with the print. I really need the prime tower to be 2-3 layers thick vs a single layer to clear the diamond print head of the prior color! [/i] The other problem I have with KISSlicer is that I ...

Re: Duet and Multi-Color/Multi-Filament Extrusion
The priming tower is aways the first thing to print with a tool/color change. However, as Nylocke mentioned it is only one wall thick which is not quite enough to clear the diamond head of the prior filament/color. I can not find the option for changing or increasing the wall thickness...... if this...

Awesome. Not exactly sure where but there are instructions on how to make that switch somewhere in the forum.Aflac wrote:Ok, I found the X paramater in the M305 to remap the temperature being read, now I just need to figure out the same thing for which heater to use.

Re: Duet and Multi-Color/Multi-Filament Extrusion
I'm assuming if you put the prime structures before the main object it will order them like that, but I'm unsure. I found in the support tab of KISSlicer the ability to select a priming tower which if I read the manual correctly will print this tower first with each tool change. I will try this and...

Re: Rostock MAX METAL - First Build (Updates: Ugly Boat Machine)
I used some copper sheeting and cut it to fit (http://forum.seemecnc.com/viewtopic.php ... 303#p59898).
It has worked well, however, I have never measured if there is any or how much variation in temp across the print bed.

Re: Duet and Multi-Color/Multi-Filament Extrusion
I have increased the number of outside loops and this has helped significantly to avoid notable blending of color with each color change. Using the prime/wipre towers helps and I would still like to figure a way to designate the tower as the first thing to print with a defined color when changing a ...

Re: Duet setup - instructions in progress
I connected my Duet to the printer before turning it on....... It sounds like you are editing the config.g exactly as I have via the web interface by "applying settings" after which the Duet reboots and you reconnect. Not sure why it is not updating when you "apply settings."

Re: Duet commisioning difficulties
Interesting - I ordered a duet/paneldue combination from Filastruder, and my paneldue won't reliably connect to the duet. Everything else works, and I can send job from the web interface. Printing away and loving it. But no dice on the paneldue. I'm still trying to determine the cause. I was planni...

Glad it works!! When I did my adjusting, it was trial and error from the baseline using the RepRap details (http://reprap.org/wiki/G-code#M301:_Set_PID_parameters). Here is a link to what I did if you haven't seen it yet (http://forum.seemecnc.com/viewtopic.php?f=111&t=9299&start=200#p87861)...

Re: Duet commisioning difficulties
I wished I had an idea of what it could be that is causing the issues. The only time I had trouble connecting was when my cable were disconnected or the SD card was not fully inserted. When I did have trouble with my board, they were awesome at replacing.

Re: Duet and Multi-Color/Multi-Filament Extrusion
Thanks Nylocke. I have been able to define each mesh as a specific extruder and defined each of the three towers to an individual extruder. Is there a trick to forcing the printer to print the tower as the first object from the defined extruder for any one layer? This would clear the print head of t...

Re: Duet and Multi-Color/Multi-Filament Extrusion
Although placing the boat last in the list did help to minimize the color mixing, it is still present. I need to find if there is a way to pick an object and force the slicer to change to a specific color on that object. Thus, force the slicer to switch tools such that changing to T1 (green with thi...

Re: Duet and Multi-Color/Multi-Filament Extrusion
I found out (I think!!) how to make sure that wipe towers are the first items to print when changing to a new color. Thus, clearing the Diamond head of the prior color. In KISS Slicer, place/open your wipe towers first (which placed them first in the list (see image). Then place/open the print STL o...

Re: What PSU can fit in the base of Rostock Max V2?
I upgraded to the Mean Well RSP-750-24 power supply with a 24 to 12V step down transformer. Make sure you use a good SSR if you so choose. Here is a link to all the products I used/bought/photos!! Everything nicely fits in the base!! At 24V, my print bed heats to 100 degrees faster than my HotEnd (w...

I also realized I had the fan on at 100% for the first layers. Likely didn't help with poor adherence of the first layer.

Massive failure. Just ordered some new BerdAir tubing.
My first layer didn't adhere. I had too much of a gap and thus poor adherence. Try again.

Installed the BerdAir. Will see how it works on small prints with the heat chamber. I set the air pump on top of the printer to deliver cool air from he ambient room. Not totally happy with how I bent the tubing and will tweet it later. Addendum: Added photos and the STL of the the bracket I made fo...

Re: BerdAir comeing soon From Yellow Jacket Concepts
I am looking for a mount for the standard Rostock V2 platform. I know there's a couple different ideas out there but didn't know if there was a "best option."
Thanks.
Addendum: I found Xenocrates version 3 that I will print and try. Will see how I can attach it to the platform.

Re: Rostock MAX METAL - First Build (Updates: Ugly Boat Machine)
Banding issue caused 100% by Onyx heat bed thermal expansion. Solution unknown. I do not have very good feelings about this product at the moment. If it's going to cause banding like that while simply holding at 50C, I don't see how it's even going to be usable. I have seen this type of banding whe...

Here it is as it sits on the print bed. Still a bit of stringing despite retractions set at 8mm.
Addendum: I've been using KISS Slicer Pro, which I really. I will post my settings and firmware files later today.
