Re: Heuristic (AI) calibration for delta printers on Smoothi

I don't use a probe so I'm not to familiar with that. Maybe you have to set an offset somewhere.
For now just bring your nozzle down to a paper and set your z height M306 Z0 then m500.
Regarding the g29 I also get two different values. I'm sure there a reason for it.

Re: Heuristic (AI) calibration for delta printers on Smoothi

I'm glad this worked out for you Credo. My usual process is... Bed 60c / Nozzle 205C All done through pronterface (USB) and I don't touch the panel on the machine because it will corrupt the SD card until calibration is all completed and the machine has been reset. G29 E (just for testing purpose - ...

Re: Heuristic (AI) calibration for delta printers on Smoothi

Not sure if you can still find it online but here it is. Attached is the 626Pilot's Delta Calibration Firmware dated Sept19.2015 I had to zip the file to be able to attached it. let me know if it doesn't work. Look at your display when you flash it for reassurance, it should show the date Sept 19. G...

Re: Heuristic (AI) calibration for delta printers on Smoothi

Credo, Don't get frustrated, your not the only one...many times I wanted to introduce my printer to the shotgun lol "hate-love relationship!!" I'm back to the Sept19-15 firmware (by 626Pilot) and that's the only way I can get my printer calibrated properly, because I have the same issue wi...

Re: Heuristic (AI) calibration for delta printers on Smoothi

Hello 626 Pilot, Thank you for spending the time to update the firmware. After spending many long hours trying the new firmware and switching back and forth from the Sept 19th to the March 5th firmware, I have encountered some issues with the new one. I made sure my config was all edited based on yo...

Smoothieboard SFTP connection problems?

Hello, Has anyone been able to connect to the smoothieboard using a SFTP client? I would like to access the SD card as a folder so I can add files, delete, access to my config etc... I can connect with Prontoface with a static IP no problem so I know the network is working properly. Instructions say...

Re: Careful with Ultra Copper RTV!

I've built one Rostock MAX v2 already and have no problems thus far. I followed the manual to the letter. Very well done BTW! I just ordered a second Rostock MAX v2.5 and came across the thread(s) about the RTV etc... That's why I asked just in case there was some new "thinking" or "d...

Re: Careful with Ultra Copper RTV!

The Rostock MAX v2 manual says to use the "Ultra Copper High Temp RTV Silicone"... So is it safe and/or better to use the JB Weld instead for the stock Hot End? What do you use on the Heated Bed?? Says to use the "Ultra Copper High Temp RTV Silicone" there too for the thermistor ...

Re: Rostock Max Smoothieboard Tutorial

I got it now... Thank you very much! So I'll place the 5v Regulator on the Smoothieboard using the 1A version. Connect the Full GLCD & Shield and that will power the Smoothieboard with NO USB Cable. However, you need the USB Cable to transfer the G-Code files over to the SD Card on the Smoothieb...

Re: Rostock Max Smoothieboard Tutorial

Thanks, I'll give that some thought! Are you installing the VBB regulator on the Smoothieboard & the GLCD Shield or just on the Smoothieboard? Also, going back above, I'll set the steppers to 80 not 106.67 but for the extruder, should it be set to 80 as well, or is that where you tweak the amoun...

Thanks KAS and ccavanaugh! You've been a great help! I'm in Ottawa, Ontario so Toronto isn't far from me for the Prometheus v2. If you guys are getting great results from it, then I'll go that route. Thank you! To be honest, I never had a problem with the stock SeeMeCNC Hot End, but need all metal f...

Re: Rostock Max Smoothieboard Tutorial

I'll try some experimenting with the "switch" command, but I'll probably go with what you suggest and wire it directly to a 12v rail from the Power Supply. Should I install the 5v DC to DC Switching Regulator or would a 5v supply of power from the ATX be just the same (or better)? Will be ...

Re: Prometheus Hot End v2 Build

In your experience, would you say that the Prometheus v2 is on par if not better than the E3D v6? Extremly on the fence with my purchase decision! One day it's the E3D v6, the next it's the Prometheus v2. I will be printing PLA, T-Glase, Nylon 645 & ABS pretty much in that order or use. Thanks f...

Filament broke during long print

Hello, Just curious why would the filament break during a long print. I found the machine printing in mid air for hours until I stop it, I had not issues previously with smaller prints. Re: Generated Circles in MatterSlice are horrible!?!

Thanks for the help guys! I'll try ticking off that box in SolidWorks as you suggested. I don't "usually" export more than one .STL at a time though since Simplify3D CANNOT "un-group" or "group" multiple .STL's at a time, shame really (as is it's scaling feature, or lac...

Re: Generated Circles in MatterSlice are horrible!?!

Yes, for all the tests, using all the "slicers", the same .STL model was used. Same settings for each "slicer" was used as well to keep things the same, ie: 0.200mm layer heights, etc... Here are the screenshots of the part and the export settings to .STL from within SolidWorks. ...
