Re: Slic3r Prints Never Start...

Did you get your copy of Slic3r the same place the others did? Your Slic3r variables in the start G-code are also in curly brackets instead of square brackets. The code won't parse that correctly. Slic3r came with MatterControl. The only thing I had to download were the preferences and that came fr...

Re: Slic3r Prints Never Start...

I just tried to use the Slic3r engine for the first time and I'm having the same issue. I opened the Gcode terminal and this is what it showed: N1 M110 S1*96 ok wait N2 G21*24 ok 2 N3 M104 S{TEMPERATURE}*28 Error:Format error Resend:3 ok N3 M104 S{TEMPERATURE}*28 Error:Format error Resend:3 ok N3 M1...

Well, I hit print and instead of printing, the hotend temp began to drop. As soon as I cancel the print and hit preheat the temp goes back up. Gota love it! :?

Re: No Layer 1

https://netfabb.azurewebsites.net/ Thanks, I'll give it a try. * update. I ran the stl through NetFabb Basic and there were a lot of problems with it. After repairing it, I exported repaired stl. I loaded that into Kisslicer and then exported the gcode into MatterControl and the same issue exists. ...

Re: No Layer 1

Hmm, ok, the MatterControl layer view seems to not be happy when loading up KISSlicer gcode. So I wouldn't worry about that. Also, notice that MatterControl most likely reports something like 5053 layers, where KISSlicer should calculate out to 23.048*5= 115 layers with 200 micron layers. Pulling t...

Re: No Layer 1

Seems to be more of a problem with fMattercontrol, then it is with KissSlicer. I'd post this in the other thread. It very well could be MatterControl causing the problem, but I thought I'd start with the application that generated the gcode since that is what tells the printer what to do. A link to...

No Layer 1

I have an stl that I downloaded from Thingiverse that needs support material. None of the built in slicers engines in Matter Control will build the support material even with the box checked in settings. (Slic3r just errors out). I verify this in Layer view. I loaded the stl in Kisslicer and generat...

My print nozzle is pretty clean on the outside. That's the first place I looked.

Anyone Know What This Is?

Recently I've been printing with a spool of White ABS from Makergeeks. It's been printing very well except that every once and a while, it deposits one of these crystal like structures on the print - looks almost like caramelized sugar crystals. Anyone know what this might be? Is it due to impuritie...

Re: Rev3 Onyx on 48V?

I'm thinking that it will take down the electrical grid in Atlanta  Seriously, though, even with a voltage regulator to get it to the proper voltage, you'll need more available current than the power supply has. The results will probably result in the smoke escaping. And once it's out, you'll n...

Re: Arc rector pendant

Very cool. How was it working with that filament? Any tips? Thanks :) It's not bad, though the key I've noticed is to print slow, if I try to print to fast I will occasionally hear clicking from the extruder motor itself and it will not extrude a bit, I believe the motor itself doesn't have enough ...

Re: WTB: Assembled Seemecnc Hotend

A picture would be helpful. It's somewhat common for people to bend the resister leads the wrong way using "round" section of the hot end see figure 3-9 of the manual. They should come straight out bend 90 degrees towards each other on the flat sides like page 151. Keep in mind that even ...

Do a search for PEI in the forum. Once you add this to the bed surface and adjust your Z height, you should be good to go without tape or glue or whatever.

Re: Prometheus Hot End: Customizable All Metal Hot End!

Just ordered the Prometheus V2 - Ordered it now to take advantage of the 10% off and to be prepared when I'm ready to print using some more exotic filaments that the stock hotend can't handle. I wonder if anyone has any recommendations regarding the distance to set the nozzle from the heatblock for ...

That's encouraging. I would like to upgrade but I don't know enough about the Smoothieboard to do it without any help. So if there are folks that have done so successfully, then at least there are resources with experience.
