Re: New layer cooling fan & shroud for Rostock Max V2
I had two of these fans for a while now, but hadn't gotten to making a shroud for them. Was just about to, and saw this. Testing them out now!

Re: web based Delta printer least-squares calibration calculator
I think, if you have a rambo and aren't ready to switch yet, this online calculator + seemecnc's accelerometer board from the eris would be a great way of calibrating a Rostock Max. Until the Archim is out and I upgrade to that.

Re: The Original Air struder
Jassper - thanks for your airstruder, I obviously used your idea for the one I posted (and gave you full credit!) - yours looks much nicer than mine, though! Looking forward to seeing what you come up with for a new design, too. Been one of the best mods I've done thus far, wish I'd done it far soon...

Re: e3d v6 fan noise
Glad they got you a new one!
I'd like to find some quieter options for layer fans, preferably some that push a little more air, too. I'd go to a bigger fan, if needed. Since I went to the flying extruder configuration, the layer fans are the loudest part of my printer.

Re: E3D Titan on E3D V6?
Seems like you'd have some hysteresis still. Probably less than filament through a bowden, though.

Re: E3D Titan on E3D V6?
When I'm switching filament or whatever, I just clip it above the extruder, and do a cold pull. With the flying extruder config, I'm only losing about 8" per swap, and it's easy.

Re: E3D Titan on E3D V6?
The mount I made should work for any NEMA 17 sized stepper, regardless of length of the can. I'm interested to hear your results with the different steppers! I have some interesting ideas brewing around these, need to free up some time and money to try them out, though.

Re: E3D Titan on E3D V6?
I really want to find a good pancake stepper to pair with the titan, if anyone has one with a ground shaft that they can find (I don't have the tools to grind my own), and decent torque I'd appreciate a link!

Re: E3D Titan on E3D V6?
If you're wanting to direct drive the titan & e3d v6, you don't need a mount, just a 2mm spacer plate between them, technically. I wouldn't do it, though. From what I've read, the pancake steppers have plenty of torque for the titan when paired with the v6, but that's all been from published rev...

Re: E3D Titan on E3D V6?
The titan is designed to fit right onto the v6 as a direct drive, shouldn't be any parts needed but the 2mm spacer between the titan and the stepper. Still, I wouldn't add the mass to the effector.

My v6's fan is quiet. I'd check with who you got it from about a replacement.

Re: E3D Titan on E3D V6?
I've placed an updated version out on thingiverse. I closed off the rear opening near the offset mount point, and widened the opening for the tension adjustment by 1mm.

Re: E3D Titan on E3D V6?
Oh, the bowden tube I used was 7", so there's about 4" after accounting for the length that's in the v6, and what's in the Titan. I'd read that was about the right length, so went with it. My retracts are now at 1mm, and I'm getting no stringing at all. The printer is also much, much quiet...

Re: E3D Titan on E3D V6?
NICE! What is the length of the lower bowden tube? I see two 'holes', one near the y-axis bungee and one near the z-axis bungee. Which was meant for the wiring to pass through and whats the purpose of the other? Michael The round hole in the front was for the wiring to pass through, the one in the ...

Re: E3D Titan on E3D V6?
Version where the tension adjustment is accessible is done (the offset isn't perfect on it, but it's accessible), printed and succesfully tested.

Re: E3D Titan on E3D V6?
So, I need some minor design changes. The hole I'd planned to route my cables through is too small. And as I noted, you can't adjust the tension. However, I'm printing, and it works!

Re: E3D Titan on E3D V6?
Well, just swapped my motor (using a replacement full size nema 17 I had from seemecnc) but found my design limits your access to the adjustment screw on the titan. Other than that, it's great. I put enough tension into it I can continue on, but it's not a design that will work as a "final"...

Re: E3D Titan on E3D V6?
I've got a air struder type design mocked up, printing the second attempt at it now (the first had too much flex). Got some bungie cords. Can I just hook the cords over the rod between the ball ends on the carriages, or should I make some sort of tie point for them to connect to there? My model is p...

Re: E3D Titan on E3D V6?
The titan can mount directly onto the e3d v6, but that's putting a lot of mass, and so inertia, on your effector plate. I think even with a pancake stepper, you don't want that much mass attached to your effector. Tempting to try it and see how it goes, though. For just the cost of a pancake stepper...

Re: E3D Titan on E3D V6?
I'd like to correct it so the bowden is better centered, the bowden on the EZStruder was to the left, on the titan it's to the right, and I am not sure about the clearance for the lever & gear. I haven't printed out a airstruder yet to say, but I suspect some minor changes would be a good idea, ...

Re: E3D Titan on E3D V6?
I checked, the titan won't mount to Tricklaser's fly-n-strude (per Brian), so any design there would be new. I have mine mounted in place of the EZStruder, and it works well. The titan actually doesn't come with a motor at all, but the one from the EZStruder works fine. I'd like to investigate a fly...

Re: E3D Titan Extruder
Not familiar with the extruder mount of the V2, but if it's the same as the later model V1 then I can upload the one I made for mine. I believe it's the same, if you can upload I'll print and give it a shot. The bracket that e3d has would be a pain to use, I'd rather just bolt on in place of the ez...

Re: E3D Titan Extruder
Anyone got a mount print that'll work for the titan to the standard rostock max v2 mount? E3D doesn't have anything up yet.
