It failed..
Not exactly sure why because it was sticking well and had already printed nearly a quarter inch tall. Looks like maybe the print shifted? BTW, this was ABS.

Re: Gravely 20G Flywheel Fan -- 254mm Dia!
I'm printing this from the SD card, so I don't have a way to video it with time-lapse, but here is a screen shot of the base being laid down and beginning of the "course" support.

Gravely 20G Flywheel Fan -- 254mm Dia!
I've drawn this Flywheel Fan up and think I have a pretty printable STL file. It passes the Netfabb test with no red "!".. Anyways I've started the print tonight. It pretty much fills up the print bed. If anything this should tell me how well I have my printer calibrated! I'm still pretty ...

Re: JERK !!!
My belts were too loose. They were tight enough to work and not skip, but loose enough that it caused a strange noise.

Re: KISS 1.5 beta configuration files
The config files will work EXCEPT that I am configured for a Kraken hot end with a .4 mm orifice. It is easy enough to change the few things that need to be changed. The machine geometry and bed size, etc are good to go. Hello, I just downloaded KISS to try for the 1st time. I'm very new to the 3D ...

Boogers!
Hello, Printing with ABS I keep getting these little boogers that take forever to clean off. Otherwise really nice prints. I've tried raising my temp from 225 to 235 and didn't help. I'm using the rostock recommend profile setting downloaded from the website. The retract is 6.5 at 110mms. I'm gonna ...

Re: Xnaron Printable Magnetic u-joint option for Rostock Max
So it sounds like from reading about this project that everyone in this thread prefers KISS Slicer, correct? I've never tried it; do you think it gives you more presice prints? Also, I might have overlooked it, but where can I find the STL file for the pyramid you guys are printing? I want to try ou...

Re: ABS Delamination...!
I got it to print correctly on the second try. I guess it just needed an enclosure. I also changed brands of filament. This time there were only a few hairline splits that you can hardly notice without really looking. I'll just drop some superglue in those. Most all the walls are 3.5mm Print speed w...

JERK !!!
Hello, Can someone please explain to me the settings on my Rostock Max v2 under the Acceleration menu on the LCD? I assume Jerk reduces the amount of jerk the printer does when moving from one direction to another but should I raise the setting to decrease jerk or should I lower the setting to decre...

Re: ABS Delamination...!
Enclosures help SIGNIFICANTLY when printing anything more than an inch tall. Also, you need to crank up the nozzle temps quite a bit - depends a little on the specific material. Most ABS can be run up to 260C but if you're running a stock hot end you're limited to 240, bump it up to at least 235C, ...

ABS Delamination...!
Hello, I'm a new Rostock Max v2 owner and so far I've done a few small ABS prints with no troubles so I decided to start one of my larger prints. These are parts for a car mod that I'm doing. Well I got major delamination. What do you guys think might cause this, or help it rather? I was printing at...

Re: Speed / Flow ??
Using the Speed Multiplier is a good way to experiment and look at what increasing or decreasing your speed in the slicer settings would do. Increasing the speed adjusts the speed of travel and the calculations on flow are adjusted as well to match the new speed. Increasing or decreasing the flow i...

I noticed on the LCD screen on your printer that is says "Keep Hands Away" at the bottom...did you add that in the firmware? Mine doesn't say that.... That message is set by the Custom G-Code (Start Code) in the Slicer. When I downloaded the MatterControl Software and config file from See...

Great job of building. Send some photos of your prints when you get them completed. Ok.. So here is a pic of my layer fan (2nd print). I didn't install the layer fan yet because I have some big projects to do in ABS and won't need it. I am redesigning the defrost vents for my 74 Corvette so I need ...

Re: Jason's Rostock Max v2
Ok.. I got my OctoPi working.. Seems I needed to unplug the printer for a few minutes after changing the baud rate settings in the eeprom in order for it to update. I'm not certain but I'm thinking the power switch on the printer must just be a "soft" power switch.
