Re: Cura 4.5 Profiles
Thanks! Can you also update the END GCODES? I think something's off. I got a RTP V4 and whenever i use Cura, I get a large retraction when the print ends. It retracts to the point where it separates from the hot end. So i have to manually feed it back close enough where i can run the Load Filament M...

Re: another error: printer set into dry run mode before restart
now you got me thinking about this upgrade and researching it! lol Looks like lots of Duets are sold out though. I'll do it after i fix my current issue. V2 been so solid i didn't want mess with it. I decided to upgrade because it had this lingering issue where if i stopped printing for a few weeks,...

another error: printer set into dry run mode before restart
Hello, Been awhile! First, big ups to Rostock Max V2. what a work horse!! even, though i never perfected the bed leveling to completely utilize the 280mm, i made tons of great prints in a small diameter that i was able to level. on top of that, made some money too! made more than what the printer is...

Re: PEI print bed surface experiments
Bringing this back from the dead. So the 3M tape still good for everyone? No lifts after hundreds of prints? I’ve been using BuildTak. Although, it works wonderful, the BuildTak adhesive itself is weak. It lifts and bubbles easily. Especially if you’re too close to the bed. BuildTak also has a pei v...

RM V2, clearing EEPROM often?
Hello, Been awhile but i gotta say, i've been printing since 2015! V2 is a beast! Now that I got 4 years under my belt, things have been pretty smooth. The only thing that's kind of mind boggling is sometimes the printer does weird things and I can't figure out what it is. But, it solves it when I d...

Re: Rostock MAX V3 Extruder Chewing Up Filament
when you say grinding, is the teeth skipping over the filament? So the filament is stuck and the teeth repeatedly grinds until it breaks? Or does the filament fall out of the grooves in the extruder causing it not to align and therefore grinding.

Re: functional parts w/ mounting holes
Thanks for the responses. Wow, I didn't even know that Modifier feature existed on Slic3r. I would post this question on the Slic3r section, but seeing no one goes on there since last June, i'll post in here. This would potentially solve some of my problems. However, getting it to work is another st...

functional parts w/ mounting holes
Wondering what everyone's doing for this or what's their solution. I find this to be quite challenging. Especially countersink and countersunk holes. They never fit a screw after it's printed and when i try to drill it out, you have to be very careful or the drills will catch the infill and split th...

Re: PEI is amazing!
i haven't tried Magigoo, but looks interesting. I already bought the PEI, so I'll use that on my Rostock. I do have another cheap acrylic Prusa that I can try Magigoo on. I like trying new things! Oddly, the ONLY thing that's worked for me thus far is hairspray, Aquanet. I just have to reapply after...

Re: How-to: Dimensional Accuracy Calibration for Delta Printers
My Delta build is very accurate. All angles are nearly perfect. Effector is parallel to the printbed. Arms are all within 0,05mm Tolerance. But why are all prints in Y-Direction 0,1mm to small, but in X-Direction nearly perfect? No matter what I do, Y-Direction is 0,1mm smaller than X-Direction, in...

Re: PEI is amazing!
I still haven't jumped on the PEI bandwagon, yet! I was about to last year but I came across BuildTak. It works, but it sticks too well. You end up spending a lot of time waiting for it to cool and scraping it off. Recently, all the scraping caused the center to bubble and lift. Now, it's ripped and...

Re: Rostock V3 - Accel probing auto calibration?
thanks for the reply! I actually thought the developers or Gene would have some insight, but maybe not yet. I'm kind of surprised no one else has used it. I figured someone has to have some connections to get the V3 early.

Rostock V3 - Accel probing auto calibration?
Hello, I got an email yesterday from MatterHackers advertising the new Rostock Max V3 that's available(pre-order). Since I haven't been on SeeMeCNC for awhile, I click on the page to see the new features. I quickly noticed; "Includes Accel probing feature for easy and accurate automatic bed lev...

Re: mixed feelings about the printer
simply put, 3D printers are not there yet. Not user friendly. It requires a lot of work and continued maintenance. Remember when computers were first invented? Well, i feel like it's in that phase at the moment w/ 3D printers where people have invented it and got it to work, but still working on mai...

I'm surprised hairspray doesn't work. It works for me and it's the only thing that's worked actually. Adjust your z lower. You shouldn't have a problem. If you still do, buy BuildTak.

Re: Print Failure on second layer
since it's only the 2nd layer, did you observe WHEN it's causing this? Is it literally not adhering? or not enough filament is coming out? From the picture, it looks like a jam to me, but I never really heard of ABS jamming. What hot end are you using? Is it stock? 2nd layer adhering issue doesn't r...

Re: Print keeps shifting
How would I check the stepper for this issue? Aside from it turning when power is applied, which it does just fine I'm not sure how else to test it for an intermittent issue like this. I was also noticing another issue which may have been the cause, or it may just be a coincident that I haven't had...

Re: Print keeps shifting
IME, print shifting can also be caused by bad stepper motors. Seems like symptoms of bad steppers is a bit of black magic. I'm not talking about obvious things like, it simply won't turn. What if you're motors are degrading or it's too old or too many hrs on them? Or you've simply overheated them on...

Re: Does Your Rostock MAX v2 Hold Its Calibration?
Also, when you change the horizontal radius, the center height doesn't change. The height of the effector changes towards the edge of the platform, the center stays the same. You'll want to find center of the bed height and change the HR so the outside X/Y/Z match the center. thanks for the clarifi...
