Re: Want to be a pilot, not after watching these.
Back in the 60's, the Canadians developed the beartrap system for ship-based helicopters to widen their weather window. Basically, the specially equipped helicopter lowers a cable, which is secured by the deck crew to a special winch on the landing deck. This allows the helo to pull the wire taunt ...

Mine is to make a strong attempt to venture out into the so called "real world" more often. If it in fact even exists it may in fact be fictional....possibly...maybe, I'm not totally sure to be honest. Perhaps I should just print one for myself instead. Ya, that's it! I may also print up a...

I had the cash and feel it has been well worth the purchase price. Speed, no other slicer even comes close to as fast as it is, no matter the complexity of model. This is one of the very biggest pluses to me. I have not ever had any model of any size or complexity take over 1 minute to slice and sli...

Re: A new player in town
I don't really see this as a competitor to seemecnc at all. Perhaps even be good for them in the end. Not competition because honestly they will be losing money on each printer here. So the chances of the quality being on par and including all the listed features seems to be beyond the scope of real...

Volcano, perhaps a hotend capable of unhear of higher temps, perhaps not limited? Also could incorporate feeding plastic pellets rather than filament only? Keeping them hot in a reserve like magma under the earth?

The cyclops is exactly what a dual extrusion hotend evolution should be. It says experimental, but I'm in. No multinozzle calibration, proported quick media change on the fly.
This is going to be great stuff here, or the begining of it anyways.

One of the most personally relatable and impacting posts I have ever personally been able to relate to that I have read anywhere!
Thankyou.
May I repost this to a select group of my past business associates?

I never did resolve this surprise problem, but thankfully it has never occurred again. Now that I have migrated to smoothie I would say it's safely an impossibility now.

Re: Unsolved Mystery. Weird Z0 behavior around build perimet
For certain it is a cost driven issue, for exactly the reasons you list plus the fact that there is zero hardware and firmware made for this market as of yet. But for those whom cost is not the only high priority but perhaps on par with there quality priorities it may be worth it. Servo's also offer...

Re: Unsolved Mystery. Weird Z0 behavior around build perimet
You're hitting on something that I think is the next big thing in home CNC... Closed loop positioning. It's starting with ZProbes, but eventually I think we'll have it on all movement. Could switch to servo motors instead of steppers. I've been pushing this idea for some time now. There seems to be...

Stainless steel NOZZLES from E3D?
Anyone tried these stainless steel nozzles from E3D yet? Just curious of the performance in comparison to the brass old standbys?

I have heard that he has restarted development somewhat, although I have yet to see any substantial gains in this area to speak of. For now I would not go for the pro version and just go for the free version. Until regular updates begin to start again.

Re: E3D's answer for dual extrusion printing is the Cyclops?
Different plastics and temps use aside, I feel that using one hot end for multiple streams of plastic is the way to go. Far less issue with calibration issues and less weight on the effector to be moved around. Obviously this will not work for different temperature plastics through the same hotend. ...

Re: Man charged with 2 year sentence for 3d printing a firea
What I do not get at all and clear points to the sensationalizing of the 3d printed gun issue is why cnc machines that can make the very same parts out of aluminium are never mentioned. Or painted as the "evil" that lets home users produce firearms. Produce them better and out of far more ...

Re: azteeg x5 usb wont mount
I've had this problem a number of times and it turned out to be errors in my config file every time. To correct it you have to reflash your firmware and config file from a fresh blank memory card. I recommend for starters just use the preconfigured config file without modification from the github zi...
