Re: Suspected RAMBo Problem
Good intuition - the upper fuse, F3, measures as open. While I wait for a replacement part, I'll troubleshoot the wiring out to the fans and hotend heater for shorts / loose connections. [edit] The short was found on the hotend heater circuit. I had connectorized the lines for easier hotend removal ...

Suspected RAMBo Problem
Just today, my display went dark while warming up for a print. The power supply still fires up, fan runs, but there are no LEDs on the RAMBo that are lighting up. My cursory inspection shows no loose wires or connectors, no obvious damaged or burnt-out CCA components. Did my RAMBo give up the ghost?...

Re: Max v2 - 2 Yellow Blinks when SD Inserted
Fixed.
New SD card is working.
For future reference, I have gone with SanDisk SDHC 32GB Class 4 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007JRB0RE

Re: Max v2 - 2 Yellow Blinks when SD Inserted
OK, so swapping the Reprapdiscount LCD controller and ribbon cables for new did NOT address the issue.
Neither did additional formatting on the SD cards.
Next up, purchasing a new SD card.

Re: Max v2 - 2 Yellow Blinks when SD Inserted
I have received the replacement LCD board -- and this will share my ignorance -- but the LCD Control Knob came pre-installed on the CCA.
Do I just pull real hard to get the knob off before installing the CCA?

Re: Max v2 - 2 Yellow Blinks when SD Inserted
Thanks, G. I have secured both ribbon cables between the LCD and RAMBo controller card. Nothing felt loose and after the check, the issue remains. Based on some limited reading elsewhere it seems the system goes into continuous reboot if there's something funny with the SD card insertion. I've order...

Max v2 - 2 Yellow Blinks when SD Inserted
So, my printer successfully completed a print - and in my normal way I pulled the SD and reinsterted to bring up the print menu, but instead of showing what files were available on the card the display flashes between NOZ/BED temperature readout to "Repetier 091S, ROSTOCK MAX, SeeMeCNC". E...

Re: Heated Bed Not Heating?
I ohm'd out the hot end thermistor wires and they report <1 ohm resistance each with no interaction across lines. The heated bed thermistor wires report <1 ohm resistance each, but have a ~150 kohm resistance between the two which seems low. Right? Shouldn't I be expected > 10Mohm? [EDIT] OK, found ...

Re: Heated Bed Not Heating?
Quick status update: I disassembled most of the electronics and inspected all wiring connections, and found this blackened and swollen wire at one of the screw-terminals on the top side of the RAMBO board leading to the heated bed. [img]http://i.imgur.com/t8GkiQt.jpg[/img] I figured this got loose (...

Re: Heated Bed Not Heating?
In my most recent testing, the bed again wasn't heating. I jiggled some wires and it fired up. So there you have it, definitely some intermittent connection somewhere. Guess I'll have to tear this thing down and see what I can do to improve wire routing and terminations inside. Unfortunately, during...

Re: Heated Bed Not Heating?
Hmm, that might explain some recent print failures. After a number of hours, the print loses bed adhesion (much like if the bed were to go cold) and the print turns to spaghetti. Are those power leads the 6x screw terminals at the top/left of the RAMBO board? If so, the wires are snug and the screws...

Re: Heated Bed Not Heating?
When I was preparing to do some power-on testing and check the 12V line to the bed, the darn thing started working. Did reseating the fuse do it? Maybe when I carefully jiggled the wires? Or it was enough love and attention to set the beast to happy... In any case, thank you for the help. I'll be ba...

Re: Heated Bed Not Heating?
Thanks, Gene - can always count on you. I have visually inspected the Rambo, no signs of damage. All connectors seated. I removed the 15A heater circuit breaker, no visual signs of damage. Multimeter check shows continuity. 15A reinstalled. The 2x 5A small white fuses look "fine"; would th...

Heated Bed Not Heating?
Rostock Max v2 was printing fine yesterday; today the bed won't heat. The set point registers on the control panel, but the heater LED doesn't blink and the bed doesn't heat. I've done some power cycling, tried a few different files, did some manual setpoint manipulation, no dice. Where should I beg...

Rostock Max v2 - Retraction/Spool Wobble
When the extruder retracts, it pushes material back up into the spool and then quickly pulls it back down. When it does this, the spool lurches and wobbles the machine slightly. I'm concerned it may be introducing printing errors to the parts. In Simplify3D, here are my Ooze Control settings: Retrac...

Hot-End Fan Not Spinning [SOLVED]
[SOLVED] In the process of writing up my problem, I was able to think through to a solution... but it felt a waste to just go and delete this post, so I'm going to throw it in here and maybe someday someone can search and find it. Fan wiring matters. The fan that cools the hot-end tube is not spinni...

Re: Hot-End In-Line Wire Connectors? (Seeking Part Suggestio
Great! One last question -- when wiring in multiple (Qty.3) layer fans, would you just spice all 3 red wires together, all 3 black wires together, and just run them from the same control circuit? The prospect of running an additional 4 wires through one of the 80/20 rods is... less than appealing.

What considerations do we have to make for the thermistor connectors? Introducing connectors with different metals, could that introduce errors into the reading?

Hot-End In-Line Wire Connectors? (Seeking Part Suggestions)
I am adding some additional layer fans to the Rostock Max v2 and connectorizing them seems to be a smart way to go about it to help with hot-end maintenance or upgrades in the future. However, I am no Electrical Engineer. I can crimp, splice, and solder for my DIY hobbies; but if someone could direc...

I guess I'd like to have a little bit more control over the PID tuning, instead of relying on the Autotune script, to optimize the heating of the hotend and bed. Could anyone direct me towards a good way to do some temperature data exporting/logging? Rostock Max v2 0.91 Repetior Firmware (loaded via...
