Re: HE280 Hotends now on the website
I'm tempted to get one ASAP, but would also be interested in the rumored V2->V3 Upgrade kit. In that case, if I get the HE280 now, then I wouldn't need one with the upgrade kit, and I'd end up with 2 HE280's. Would the upgrade break out the various parts so I could get the HE280 right now and then ...

Re: LED light bar for print bed
So I finally needed to print something big enough for these things to get in the way, so guess what's in the trash can?

Re: LED light bar for print bed
Either that, or I'm just too stubborn and impatient do what people tell me. Maybe a mix of them both.

Re: LED light bar for print bed
Yea, I really should have seen that. Oh well. Live and learn, right? Sucks, cuz I really do like the way they light the platform up. And it was a great first lesson, even though the design was bad. I will continue to tinker though.

Re: LED light bar for print bed
Yea, that would probably be easy enough. Here's how they turned out though.. 2016-01-08 00.00.07.jpg 2016-01-08 00.01.00.jpg In the meantime, I wont plan on printing anything too huge right now, so I'll let it be. I also thought about a short "wall" that would clip on to the base of the x ...

Re: LED light bar for print bed
DAMN, YOU'RE RIGHT! Oh well.
Im on the 2nd one now, finally getting a raft to stick. I'll have to move them out and lower them a bit. It'll give me something to tinker with.
I'm still having WAY too much fun!

3D model of a 3D printer
In starting to design a couple of customized parts for my Max v2, I came across the thought that it would be a lot easier to make accurate parts if I actually had a 3D model of the printer itself. I downloaded the master files, and there are cad drawings and stl parts in there, but it's still going ...

Cool! I'll check that out. I took a few pictures of mine during the build, but a time lapse would be freaking sweet!

railing.jpg Here is the idea. 3 of these, holding a single piece of RGB led light strip from FleaBay. Now if I can get the blasted thing to print. It's the whole "warping/adhesion/peeling/throwing half printed parts at the cat" thing. 4th try, printing it upside down on a raft with suppor...

I just got mine like a week ago. Had a ton of fun building it, and coming up with mods and such. Welcome to the group!

Re: Jason from Cedar Rapids, Iowa
Yea, those things suck. But the trick is that it is like a civilian company working for the city that sends you the bill. it isn't actually a legit scheduled violation. Last I heard the cameras were like 14% of the city budget or something like that. Mine generally get filed in the circular filing c...

Re: LCD Acrylic cover hole position
I concur with Barry. I think it is a matter of the bend not being perfectly consistent. Not that I could have done any better, of course. I got the bottom holes to fit first, then the top ones, and that seemed to work pretty well for me.

No major problems is the scary part. Something should have gone wrong by now! Right now she looks pretty stock standard, but I already have a half dozen ideas to pretty her up a bit. I'll post pictures then.

Just built my Rostock Max V2 and powered it up for the first time. It became self aware at 2:14 AM Eastern time and may or may not have launched an attack against a local Starbucks. I enjoy making things And breaking things, so hopefully I will fit in here pretty well.
