Happy Easter
Printed the Red yesterday and the Yellow over night. Very little clean up. Still have to adjust some settings on the retract as I get random air bubles in the print with retract on. Thingiverse

Re: First 3D Printer Build
Unless you see slipping in the extruder there is no reason to disassemble. I really think you need to adjust temp. Only thing you need to disconnect is the tube from the quick connect on the top of the extruder. Then just heat extruder and feed by hand till it flows well. Just follow my last post so...

Re: First 3D Printer Build
Based on the thermocouple reading I suspect you need to bump up your temp a little. Make sure you have good contact with the thermocouple when you are taking the temp. I extrude ABS at a nozzle temp of about 230. What you have to watch for is the PEEK section of the hot end you don't want it to get ...

Re: Bluemalu - Rostock MAX build
It sounds like the cut file was not adjusted for the lack of melamine. There may also be issues with the tri-supports. They "T" into each other so you may have issues with the alignment of the mounting of them to the top and bottom. I highly recommend contact seemecnc for their opinion.

Thank you for the settings. I know I have to tweak to my usage.
I noticed on the ABS settings you have different destring values for different colors. Did you adjust them individually to ge the best results?

Re: First 3D Printer Build
What material is the filament and what temp are you printing. I just ran poygonhell's calibration yesterday and had my temp too low (added a PEEK cooling fan and it cooled the hot end also). I got what looked like poor feed rate but it really was the temp that was the main issue. If you have a therm...

Re: First 3D Printer Build
When you measured the filament, how did you measure it? I suspect you are getting filament slipping. When you send a feed comand it shoud advance the filament such that if you put a little friction with your fingers on the filament it still feeds. But you don't want it so tight as to distort the fil...

Re: Rostock Max Print Issues
Mhackney beat me to it again. I was going to ask what speed and feed rates you are using. And your extruder shouldn't be distorting your filament. You want just enough pressure for consistent feed without slipping. Did you do polygonhell's extruder calibration? Your looking to make sure your feeding...

Re: Infill calibration, May have an issue still
Broose- if your arms can fall straight down from gravity you may need to calibrate your extruder. Check that when you send a feed command of 50mm it takes 50mm of filament. Measure this prior to the extruder. Then do polygonhell's extruder calibration. After you have done that try again and let us k...

Re: Quick filament changer
I could be doing this wrong but I haven't taken my extruder apart for filament changes. I just retract until the filament is completely out. Then I feed the new filament in. Only need to adjust the tension if I see a significant difference in filament diameter. I know others have had issues with the...

Re: Another rostock max build
When you checked your arms did you have each joint fully assembled? How much the screw are tightened make a huge impact on friction of the joint. I personally worked a single end of each arm completely before moving to the next. My measure of a good joint was when an arm was connected only at one en...

I am jealous! The magnetic joints look like they made a huge impact on the precision movement of the machine.
Looking forward to the video.

Re: So much fun with my new printer!!
I found similar prices to mhackney but couldn't find a US distributer. I like the Teflon bushing. Pretty simple solution to friction. Any issues with the Teflon being cut from a flat sheet then placed in the cup of the socket? Out of curiosity is there a reason why the ball is magnetic versus the &q...

Re: Don't get those Delta Arm Blues!
Exactly what I was thinking about the standalone post. Between this and polygonhell's extruder calibration post the site is on a great start to a FAQ.
Next thing needed is a sticky addressing firmwares. E.g. EEPROM and how to use. And locations of the various firmwares.

Re: New style hot end?
I used the hole at the resistor. I recently installed a small fan that is aimed at the PEEK section of the extruder. Since then my thermistor reading dropped significantly. Placing a thermocouple on the nozzle shows a higher temp. When I get a chance I need to order a new thermistor and relocate it ...

This is perfect. What needs to be done is all the posts about calibration and adjustments should be linked in a FAQ.

Re: ApacheXMD's Build
I had my entire rostock built so I started with the cheapskates and platform. I removed one arm at a time so I made sure the arm went back into the same ujoints with the same side facing up. After that then I attacked the arms. After the first couple I got into a pretty good rhythm. But never found ...

Re: Rostock Max Print Issues
@mhackney- I agree there are most likely issues with the joints. But I'd recommend spend 30 minutes confirming filament feeds prior to a couple hours sanding (based on severity of gaps most likely a lot of friction therefore a lot of sanding.) I like to tackle and confirm simple/easier fixes first, ...

Re: Rostock Max Print Issues
Although I do agree that the delta arms will need adjustment. In mhackney's prints the affected areas were very localized. In Harley's original image the issues are throughout the part and fairly uniform. Gaps appear between all lines printed. If it was only friction in the arms there would be areas...

Re: Cassetti's black Rostock MAX build
Thanks I'll check that. The gear attached to the stepper motor on the extruder is slipping occasionally. I did loosen up the screws holding the rollers last night, we'll see if the issue continues. might be simply a variance in the thickness of the filament, not sure Slipping gear on stepper is ver...

Re: Cassetti's black Rostock MAX build
1) some post have mentioned this and it seems the recommendation is to check the gears on the feed rollers for impact to the bottom of the knurled fitting in the extruder housing. Two fixes have been used. One is to bevel the gears so there is clearance. The second is to take material off the housin...
