I built it for prototyping bike frames. So I needed a printer tall enough to make tubes as long as possible. Hence the very tall delta.

Im almost finished with my 6ft Max Metal build so I decided to take a brake and solve my layer fan issue. It a 3 squirrel fan mount that is designed to mount underneath the max metal platform. I dunno about counterweights - they increase the mass and therefore the force required for acceleration. How about setting up a landing pad of some sort for the effector platform, and setting up the G-code to drive to that position at the end of the print? That definitely could work. I could rig up...
