Re: My Zesty Nimble review...

So all in all. Would you say this is a better extruder to side with rather then the bondtec? I know you review was unbiased. But seeing as you have more time under your belt with the dual drive extruder. Would you choose this one if you had to do it all over again? I ask, as I too am looking to repl...

I made a new mount for the Berd air Max V2

For anyone interested i just designed and made a clip that works very well for the Berd air max. Its a hassle free, not hardware required mode that, clips on too the 713 makers carbon standoffs. It can be adapted to work with other standoffs as well!; https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2398173 [img]h...

Re: Aluminum and carbon fiber E3d V6 mount. RELEASED!

That is crazy!! you had to go through that whole ordeal. Could I ask of you, since you have such knowledge on the subject. What would you recommend for kit cnc router, that can machine aluminium very easy as yours can. I have a good sizable budget and quite a bit of space. I would like to stay way f...

Re: Aluminum and carbon fiber E3d V6 mount. RELEASED!

It is a custom made mill from a guy in Canada. Full 3/4" aluminum plate and heavy duty 80x80 extrusion frame with full ball screws. It is a gantry style mill and has dual ball screws on the Y axis. We run a 2.2KW water cooled spindle and currently a fog buster coolant system, but that is soon ...

Re: IR probe on 713 Mount

If some one could provide me the slpart file, i could make one. I made one that works great for Max metal mount. it works flawless. Another note, if you have an e3d v6 theres a mount that attaches too the fan and acts as a spacer. It works but i wouldn't call it reliable. The one i made looks like t...

I built it for prototyping bike frames. So I needed a printer tall enough to make tubes as long as possible. Hence the very tall delta.

Im almost finished with my 6ft Max Metal build so I decided to take a brake and solve my layer fan issue. It a 3 squirrel fan mount that is designed to mount underneath the max metal platform. I haven't had a chance to print it out but will later tonight and report back. Here's the model if anybody ...

Have anybody made it work yet? I am trying to put it together myself, but I am temporarily stuck with configuring wifi, which works, but the configuration is lost after a reboot. However, I am more interested in positive (hopefully there are no negatives :D ) experiences, if anyone wants to share. ...

Update 4/6/2016 So I went ahead and installed the e3d hotend with volcano adapter, running a .8mm nozzle. I started calibration, but im having issues with the prints coming out bigger then they need to be. Maybe it has too do with my slicer bu...

Re: The story of my 6ft tall printer

I dunno about counterweights - they increase the mass and therefore the force required for acceleration. How about setting up a landing pad of some sort for the effector platform, and setting up the G-code to drive to that position at the end of the print? That definitely could work. I could rig up...

Re: The story of my 6ft tall printer

1. Aren't your extruder motors going to get hot like that? 2. Counter weights. I'm using an old hard drive as a counter weight for my flying extruder. I thought that would be a problem as well, but so far the motor temps have been fine. Im going to redesign the motor mounts as soon as I have the du...

Re: The story of my 6ft tall printer

Update 4/2/2016 I was told that the Max Metal frame from tricklaser could not be modded to accommodate taller towers. Well if you take in account that you will no longer be able to use the machined motor mounts and frame centering pins you can still use the 30 degree stabilizers to increase your bui...
