Re: Extrusion problems with your HE280 equipped printer? READ ME!
Okay. So i have a Rostock Delta v2 with the upgraded HE280 head and fans. The printer worked fine after I upgraded to the new head about 2 years ago. I haven't printed anything in the past six months. Machine has been covered continuously and stationary in my workshop. Today i designed a small part ...

Re: Print Settings for T-slots
G - Thanks! Explains so much. Cura seems to be a much more versatile slicer and I've recently learned that you can't print loooooooooooooong duration jobs reliably using the USB connection, so I've just started to print from the SD card.

Print Settings for T-slots
I have a part (see attached) design that incorporates a small t-slot. I'm printing in ABS material with a .4mm nozzle on a RostockMax v2 with a 280 head. Reorienting the part before slicing to avoid forming filler support in the t-slot area is impractical. Any suggestions on how to print this part w...

Re: Bed Adhesion Issue
Thanks for all the helpful suggestions. They gave me lots of things to consider that I hadn't thought of on my own. Among other things I had removed my borosilicate plate and cleaned it with alcohol, which of course removed all residue from the surface. I think that it just had to build up enough ha...

Bed Adhesion Issue
Okay, so I have a RostockMAX v2 which has printed fine in the past. I recently moved the printer to across town to a new location. I also took the opportunity to upgrade it with a new HE280 hotend. Lastly, while I have been using glue sticks for bed coating preparation, I read in one of the forums t...

Re: Print failure when printing vertical columns?
\o/ You're welcome! g. So, in the continuing saga of trying to print this vertical column, changing to direct-print from the SD card in the printer seemed to be a solution. The first time printing from the card the job got about 80% of the way done and then the printer somehow knocked over the prin...

Reformatted the card to FATS and it is recognized fine. THANKS!!geneb wrote:I've never used larger than an 8, but I don't know of any inherent size issue. It does need to be FAT formatted, though. The system can't read an NTFS-formatted card.

Re: Print failure when printing vertical columns?
Is there a maximum SD card storage size that the RostockMax v2 can read? I think i'm using a 32GB card.geneb wrote:Might be a dodgy SD card.

Re: Print failure when printing vertical columns?
Thanks! Having trouble at present printing from the SD card. If it's not one thing, it's another! Working through the issues... When I slice in MatterControl and save the g-code file to the card, then insert the card into the printer, the display shows "SD Card Inserted" but it does automa...

Re: Print failure when printing vertical columns?
Xenocrates: Thanks once again for offering some great observations that suggest a pathway forward! You're right, a USB connection. I did't think about that. I'll try reprinting from the internal SD card. Will let you know how that works out. I would like to slice and print with Cura, but I get a 'pr...

Print failure when printing vertical columns?
Okay, so I designed this prototype that could generally be described as a 7" tall vertical hollow column with several proprietary features. I have tried to print it twice on my Rostock MAX v2 w/ upgraded 280 print head. Other smaller (shorter) pieces seem to print fine. I'm printing Carbon Fibe...

Error: Unable to Slice
Greetings! Okay, so I just upgraded m RostockMax v2 with a new HE280 hotend. Upgraded firmware, installed Arduino and new driver, all per the published upgrade instructions. All went well. Next, i downloaded and installed Cura v3.3.1 and installed on my computer. Setup my printer, extruder and profi...

Re: Printing Suggestions?
Thanks. I've been using MatterController. Have downloaded Cura but it has no option for setting up a RostockMAX printer. The indicated link above in your last comment (.../seemecnc for HE280) results in a 'page not found' error. Can you provide a link to the correct Cura setup for a RostockMax v2 pr...

Re: Printing Suggestions?
Hello PartDaddy - Sorry for the long delay. OBE (overcome by events) here last couple of weeks. I'm sure you know how it goes. I finally got around to attempting a print of the part we've been discussing. I included a photo of the print I stopped midstream when I realized it wasn't going to pan out....

Re: Printing Suggestions?
Wow, PartDaddy! Thanks so much for the info. I built a RostockMAX v2 last year. I later bought the hi-temp head kit when I found I couldn't print my hi-tensile carbon fiber filament with the stock head. (Seems like the higher temp head kit should have come standard, but that's water under the bridge...

Printing Suggestions?
Hello! I'm hoping I can get some good suggestions for parts I need to print. I'm somewhat new at 3d printing, but built my RoStock V2 and have printed a number of simple parts in ABS very successfully. Now I want to move into complex parts. I see all these great looking printed parts online, but i w...
