Leveling issue

I am going to do my best to explain this. I am trying to get my bed level and have been messing with the horizontal radius also. What happens is that on the X axis going left and right from center, it is fine, but on the Y axis going forwards and backwards, the nozzle comes up. I am not sure what el...

Temp is "def"

I was in the middle of a 20 hour print and at hour 17 it just stopped and the temperature will read as "def", and when I turn off and on again it reads normal then goes up to "def". What would cause this and why would it start like that randomly? Assuming something with thermisto...

Re: E3D Titan on E3D V6?

I am up and running with my air struder with the e3D v6 and 13n pancake stepper. Great performance so far. I am running with retraction at 2mm at 50mm/s right now and prints are looking great. I haven't experimented much with different retraction lengths but am betting it could even go a little lowe...

Re: E3D Titan on E3D V6?

Thanks that got me running. I have it at 93, it seemed a little hot at 100. I had to set my steps/mm to 400. Unfortunately I won't be able to test out the whole setup due to an unrelated F3 fuse blowing problem whenever I turn on the hotend heater. Accidentally broke the hot end thermistor while loo...

Re: E3D Titan on E3D V6?

Okay, I have everything installed, but am doubting myself. On line 701, I currently have this (default from SeeMeCNC): #define MOTOR_CURRENT {140,140,140,130,0} // Values 0-255 (RAMBO 135 = ~0.75A, 185 = ~1A) use 140 for xyz and 130 for the E if using Kysan motors and 175 xyz and 200 if using wantai...

Re: E3D Titan on E3D V6?

Just got my Titan today along with the pancake stepper. Does anything have to be changed in the firmware and/or EEPROM for these?

Re: Rostock Max v2just went dark, can't connect

Pulled both F2 and F3 to check continuity, and yep, F3 is blown. Putting in an order for more now. Thanks for the quick response!

Rostock Max v2just went dark, can't connect

I built a Rostock Max v2 kit a couple months ago. I have had no issues printing about 400 hours worth. Last night a print job finished, then I told it to heat back up to PLA to change filament and everything went dark. The power supply fan is still running, but the LCD does not light up, and I canno...

Re: E3D Titan on E3D V6?
My original flynstrude didn't fit. So I just reimagined it. Motor is one of those tiny short-body 13N Nema17 pancake steppers. Ultra light compared to the original.

Can you post the link to that mount? How is the performance with the pancake?

Re: E3D Titan on E3D V6?

The titan is designed to fit right onto the v6 as a direct drive, shouldn't be any parts needed but the 2mm spacer between the titan and the stepper. Still, I wouldn't add the mass to the effector. The mass effect on a direct drive mounted V6/titan was mentioned earlier. Although the stock 42x42x42...

Re: E3D Titan on E3D V6?

I've looked into it a bit more and am thinking the air struder is probably a better bet and am going that route. It seems much easier to implement and I can't imagine 4 extra inches of bowden tube between the air struder and v6 would really make that big of a difference. I'd imagine that the added w...

Re: E3D Titan on E3D V6?

Glad to have stumbled across this because I have been considering the same thing. I ordered the exact same stepper motor. I am attempting to design a mount for direct drive right on the e3D v6, but I am not an expert at 3D design and am finding it hard to do without the parts in hand. If I actually ...

Re: New builder, new build

I took a look at my build and noticed two things - first, and more pertinent to your issue, mine does not have a tab that big. It looks like it is a fault of the injection molding for the part. I am thinking you could ignore it and be fine, or to be safe trim off any offending part that may cause it...

Re: Rostock Max V2 with a e3d titan direct drive?

I like this idea. I am about to do the same thing myself, or considering it anyway. I put in an order for the Titan and was planning on trying the air struder. By the way they are 10% off on E3D website with code "Extruder3D". It ended up being cheaper to order directly from UK even with s...

Re: Printing wood, metal, soft filaments

I took a closer look at the carriage and I think it would work. I wasn't home before to actually see it. I think the bungee cord could easily be attached to the white arm that is screwed on the new carriage. [img]http://www.tricklaser.com/images/Thumbscrew_4-40_Molded_Carriage_Rostock_MAX-02.jpg[/im...

Re: Printing wood, metal, soft filaments

Any thoughts on the Bondtech QR? Might it be better? Ideally a plug n play solution like that would be ideal, but I can see it still being a problem as that doesn't change the length of the tube.

Re: Printing wood, metal, soft filaments

Ive done it with a redesign of the EZstruder mounted on my printers arms, but an airstruder with the EZstruder should help you. The main problem is the hysterisis that comes up (flex in tube and filamemt) because its so long. A geared extruder would do a lot but shorter tubes go a long way That Air...

Printing wood, metal, soft filaments

Has anyone successfully printed with wood or metal filaments on their Max v2? I have tried the wood several times, but it ended up jamming and it broke in the extruder. The new e3D Titan extruder is out and looks like it may be at least a better solution, so I am looking at that, but if possible I w...
