Re: My first fail!

I know that I do 3mm @30 and it's always worked for me. I believe that MHackney's recommendation is a bit shorter and slower than that. Shorter yes! 1mm works well on both the E3D V6 and HE280 hot ends. You can see the results in the video I posted on Sunday in my V3 build thread. That was 1mm retr...

Re: My first fail!

Like everything in life, choice of print surface is a compromise. Many surfaces and surface treatments can produce good results. The details and an individual's specific requirements lean them one way or the other. For me, I print primarily PLA. I produce fly fishing reels that I sell so production...

Re: My first fail!

Get some Elmer's Disappearing Purple glue stick and try that. g. Looking at the skirts he printed around the parts, it looks like the first layer stuck,,,, He may have gotten a jam from having to long of a retraction setting. I tend to agree. I've never really had issues with the prints sticking af...

My first fail!

Printed in PLA. Would this be because my bottom layer did not stick? I used 210C for the nozzle, 60C for the bed, and sprayed aquanet hairspray before printing.

Thanks. I'll try that tonight.

Unable to print Stretchlet in Matter Control

I just finished building my Rostock v3 last night and I was able to print a number of things (boaty, fossil fish, and vase), but for some reason I cannot print a stretchlet. I add the stretchlet.stl to my printer queue, hit print, my bed + nozzle heat up to the correct temperature the hotend lowers ...

Re: Busts

Wow! Thanks for the detailed info. That is exactly what I was looking for. So do you do a lot of tabletop gaming? I'm thinking of printing some stuff for D&D. Those are great! Have you researched airbrushing at all? I'm definitely interested in purchasing one as well. Anyone know if it's an expe...

Re: Hello from Cincinnati Ohio

Hello fellow Ohioan and gamer! If you are into PC Gaming you should come to the next LanOC http://lanoc.org/lan-parties/dates . It's a good sized LAN that is not too far from you. The SeeMeCNC guys came to the last LAN and had a few Eris printers and a Rostock v3 setup (they even gave away two Eris'...

Re: And greetings from Los Angeles!

Welcome! I am also new to the 3d printing scene and just bought a v3. I'm about half way through the build and I will say that it is a tedious process but the instructions that the they have on the website are very straight forward and easy to follow. One tip, when you get to point when you are putt...

Tools needed for Rockstock v3 build

What are are the tools needed to put together a Rockstock v3? I looked under the Rockstock v3 assembly guide but I was not able to find that info. I think it was on there a few days ago but I can't find it now. These were the tools I remember seeing: Soldering Gun Allen wrench (inch/metric) needle n...

Hello from Ohio!

Hello all! I had the pleasure of meeting Steve from SeeMeCNC this weekend at LanOC in Van Wert, Ohio. It is a good sized LAN party for PC Gamers. The guy who heads up the LAN purchased/reviewed an Eris Delta and loves it. He asked Steve if he could setup at the LAN and he agreed. He brought along tw...
