Re: Zesty Nimble extruder technical thread
Hi guys, Hmm, I was pretty sure I posted here before on some of the questions, but must have failed to do it properly. 2nd attempt. what should we call this class of extruders? Something like "remote direct drive"? Yes please , that is exactly what we were calling it before we picked the N...

Re: Taulman n-vent (Eastman Amphora)
The only disadvantage of this stuff is that there are few solvents that work on this stuff.
So no use trying to use acetone vapor smoothing of your print, it will not work.
Or if you have a blocked nozzle, dropping it in acetone will do nothing to dissolve the plastic.

Re: Extruder fan - when should it run?
The reason the fan is so important is that otherwise you will get jams. If the fan is not on, or positioned wrong ( the overhang at the bottom and the lowest fin of the heat break covered) the heat can rise above the heat break and melt the material in the heat sink. That will cause the hot end to j...

Hmm, interesting
I will have to try that with nGen. See if it changes the surface finish.
Nice one.

Re: Test results of the Filaprint printbed material
Oh dear, I made work for you.
But yes it was nice to read your notes and compare.
I have to admit, in my day to day printing I was am as thorough and conscientious as for these test results.
But working on it.

Re: Zesty Nimble extruder Kickstarter campaign...
Thanks Michael, OK, about Kickstarter and how it works. With Kickstarter it is an all or nothing system. This means, if the Kickstarter campaign reaches the targeted goal, the money is released. If not you get it back. In our case, we are looking for 38,000 Euro (approx $41,800) to allow us to make ...

Re: E3D V6 printing problems
The fact that you can start printing and that it only fails after a certain period of time, points to 2 things in my mind. 1. Retraction. The V6 is sensitive to retraction. Retract too far, and the PLA will jam the nozzle. Max retraction on a direct drive, is 3 mm, but 1 is preferred. 2. Bad fan eff...

Test results of the Filaprint printbed material
Hello All, After some tests on various print bed materials I decided to do a full test on Filaprint. All the results are in a Sheet that can be found here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/10Olyv7lBDsgXNT-T7DTLHM8_0g9yD-X6O6ZgrCtSu2w/edit?usp=sharing Make sure to also read the Notes on the sec...

Re: Zesty Nimble extruder Kickstarter campaign...
Hello all, Before I jump in with a few statements, answers and such, I want to ask if it is OK for me to do so. I am new to this forum and have stepped on toes before, on other forums. Do not want to repeat that. Yes I came to this forum to talk about the Nimble, of course I did. But I see a lot of ...

Hello from Cyprus
Or Yasou , as they say here. Dutchman hailing from Cyprus, living near Limassol. Nice to live on an island, but shipping filament to me is a pain. I have been involved in 3D printing now for only 3 years or so. Backed a printer on Kickstarter and had to wait almost 2 years to get it. When I did get ...
