Re: What is your experience with the HE280 hotend?
I ditched the stock hotend for an E3D once I realized SMCNC would not be making a .35 nozzle. I printed my own mount, and it has been my top machine of the 4 I own. Here's the upgrade: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2122793 No problems with the Calibration using the octoprint plugin, and it just ...

Re: HE280 Keeps mysteriously clogging
That's so weird the author of that article has such utter contempt for using canola oil.
I've found after 30,000 hours with 4 x E3D, I now routinely use it. I have 9 printers now, and sell prints in the order of 100-200 prints per month.

Re: HE280 Keeps mysteriously clogging
OP: I'd try a drop of canola oil before every print. I've noticed with the all-metal hotends (including E3D) the extra lube in the the PTFE tube as well as the buildup in the hotend helps keep things flowing smooth. Put a drop on your index finger, smear it between index and thumb, and then wipe abo...

Re: Firmware Updates?
It won't retract upon cancellation. It will retract on the start of the next print if the prior print was cancelled. It doesn't occur with the V2 firmware, just the V3 and the Eris. The only thing I can think of is there is a switch in there from absolute to relative positioning mode, and the first ...

Re: Firmware Updates?
Heh..... CANX means the prior print was cancelled (forgive me, I spent 8 years in flight test) . In terms of the zero, I mean the normal process for a print. Warmup bed, warmup hotend, Home, bed zero, begin. This process can be defined as alternate start GCODE, I've seen a priming command or a calib...

Re: Raspberry Pi 3 Mount for Eris
This mount is awesome, thanks for working it up and sharing it.
I wound up stealing power from the "Eris" LED up front. Plenty of Juice to run the pi. I soldered in a parallel line from the circuit board.

Re: Firmware Updates?
There's 2 bugs I really wish they would fix: 1.) After a CANX print, the next print sucks up 200+mm of filament after it runs to zero after homing. My only recourse is to hold the EZRstruder until it stops. This seems to happen from SD, Octoprint, and MC. 2.) When starting a print from Octoprint, fo...

Re: Rostock Max v3 upgrading to e3d v6 hot end?
The wiring is really simple. The pair marked "HE" goes to your intercooling fan for the heat sink. The pair marked "part" is for layer fans. The opposing single lines on the side of the center hole are for the heating cartridge. The pair next to the Part pair is for the thermiste...

Re: Trying a E3DV6 extruder
Hey Wade, I think you're set, as long as you buy the complete E3D bowden kit: http://e3d-online.com/E3D-v6/Full-Kit/v6-1.75mm-Universal-Bowden The integrated box fans with the effector are the best I've used to date. I tried the stock fans with redirecting shrouds with mixed results. I found borderl...

Re: Trying a E3DV6 extruder
I just finished my conversion, making a sole/separate hotend so that I could revert as you speak to. Here's the complete build and BOM: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2122793 The only thing I couldn't source was the PCB cover. I wound up printing one off of the github in Form 2 Clear resin. The on...

Re: Rostock Max v3 upgrading to e3d v6 hot end?
Here's a 3D printed version: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2098268
It printed really well, and I'll be assembling it this weekend.
I also stumbled across a really novel effector that's compatible: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1284511
I just assembled this one, and eveything is nice and snug.

Re: Eris Calibration Inconsistent
I've noticed the same. I don't use the build-tak side of the plate, but the bare glass with a coat of elmers. I've had a pretty good run (20 or so prints) with consistent bed levelling, but I've had to wash the plate after every print, home, and G29 calibrate before every print after clearing any sh...

Re: Some questions and problems
Cura works really well for me. I skipped straight to octopi/cura as I utterly despise mattercontrol. This profile works really well for the stock blue that comes with the machine, and is working at the moment with MatterHacker Bronze PRO PLA. Judging from the pictures, you're snagging on the curled ...

Re: ERIS Early adopter feedback
I think I'm too late to be considered an early adopter, but I did get an Eris up and modified this weekend. Observations: Raspberry pi/Delta Calibration Plugin: Covered in awesome sauce. G28, G29, load eeprom, run calibration, DONE! I can't believe a delta cal has been reduced to something so easy. ...
