Re: I might have the only Rostock that caught on fire! :(
I thought there was some sort of safety built into the firmware, where if the heater continued to heat, and the thermistor wasn't sensing a temperature change, it would shut it off after so many minutes. in your case since the thermistor was out, it should have not allowed it to get that hot.. imma...

I might have the only Rostock that caught on fire! :(
Famous for not leaving well enough alone, I wanted to mount the extruder on the endefector. Lots of the problems I was having (I thought/think) stemmed from the bowden tube set up vs the direct drive style. After seeing the EZStruder released, I decided to mount it on the endefector and just sacrifi...

Minimizing Seam on the Perimeter
I've played with a few settings to try and minimize the seam created by the printer stopping and starting each layer, but I haven't been able to get it as good as I'd hope. I know its not going to go away completely, but my suspicion is its capable of doing better than it is. I used the randomize st...

Do you have an aluminum plate with glass on top?foshon wrote: Yes, I use one on both of my machines. MAX's little brother a MM 1.5+ heats up in around 5-10 minutes, no longer then the extruder. MAX takes a bit longer in the 10-15 minute range, but I have not tweaked the settings at all, yet.

how did you guys order the mounts, i dont see it on the website. I just ordered the kit on SeeMeCNC's site. Do you have a post that details your setup?Polygonhell wrote:I am currently using a direct drive extruder and IMO it's much nicer for retracts, but IMO half the problem tuning retracts on the rostock is the Hotend. Have you used that type of heater?foshon wrote:You can get a fairly inexpensive 24v kapton heater from several places (trinity labs, ultibots) that will let you use the Rambo circuit at 8A or so.
If so, what has your experience been with it? Heat up times?

The Pot Bot!
This is something a little different, so I figured I'd share. At work we have a few circuit boards that we have to pot. For anyone who doesn't know what that means, its essentially covering part of the board with an adhesive to protect the active components from the environment. Typically the adhesi...

More Extruder Problems.
I was initially having issues with the filament buckling and being pushed out the side of the extruder... Polygonhell's extruder cap fixed that problem (Thank you!) Now I can't get the extruder to reliably feed filament to the nozzle. It will just start slipping on the filament. I've tried the follo...

Re: Exruder "Cap" to reduce filament buckling
Polygonhell, you are a life saver my friend! I've been fighting with this issue for days and couldn't get anywhere. I managed to print it off in nylon (thinking it would cause the least amount of friction) and used some jewelers files to finish it off so it fits perfectly. I still wish I knew what c...

Pushing Filament out the side of the Extruder.
I’ve been struggling the last few days with this issue. I’ll start a print and it goes ok for a little bit (< 10 min) and it’ll start pushing filament (both PLA and ABS) out the side of the extruder. I’ve also noticed that the Bowden tube flexes and torques like crazy when its extruding. It got so b...

I'd say you have other issues. Delta arms may be an issue but it isn't obvious from these parts, they look pretty good from that perspective in fact. To me, it looksmore like an extruder/plastic flow problem firstly. Maybe too much filament and/or too hot. How fast are you printing. We suggest sloo...
