Auto Calibrtion Errors

I have a V2 with Duet Wifi and DC42 IR probe with Printbite on the bed. Michael spent a ton of time helping me when we first changed over to the Duet and had it working perfectly, but at that time I had already torn up the PEI we had so I went ahead and purchased the Printbite. I incorrectly assumed...

AL heat spreader

Does anyone print directly on the AL heat spreader?

Just wondering since the glass build plate just broke on me and wanted to get some printing done this weekend while waiting on a new one.

Re: Auto Calibration points

David- is it an issue if I keep getting a much higher Z than your range? Mine is 2.88. To calibrate the sensor for Z homing and bed probing, home X and Y, then position the head over the centre of the bed. With the nozzle at operating temperature, lower the head so that it is just touching the bed o...

Re: Auto Calibration points

Thanks for the replies. I'm still chasing issues after the upgrade, I I took apart the hotend and put it all back together and low and behold it's no longer a problem. Go Figure.

Auto Calibration points

Will changing the outer probe points mess up the calibration? What I'm running into is that outer Y probe point is too close to the tower and the white tension piece is getting forced up against the hot end fan enough to stop the fan. I was hoping that moving the points in a little wouldn't complete...

Settings Help

New to KisSlicer, having a little trouble I printed 3DBenchy and thought it was pretty good. So I tried a mount for the PanelDue and LCD. This is what it looks like currently: [img]http://i381.photobucket.com/...

Re: Rostock Max V2 w/E3D V6 Advice?

I've never needed a bed heat higher than 80C to print ABS, so you might try that. g. I find I have to have it at 90C for ABS even with a sheet of PEI on the glass. We just finished our upgrade to DuetWiFi and DC42 IR sensor. So first time using KisSlicer. I left it at the stock setting which was 80...

Re: Rostock Max V2 w/E3D V6 Advice?

Try Cura. I'll ask my son for his setting when he gets home- hopefully he can get them without connecting to the printer since we are currently upgrading to DuetWiFi. I wish I could help, I always feel like we must have gotten very lucky when I read about people struggling. Here's a small sample of ...

Re: Quite disappointed

I don't think it's the board. I received a new one (it is lacking a connector for a fan, that can be dealt with). I flashed the new board and I am back where I was with the old board. It must be something else. What galls me is that I bought this assembled for a reason. I am hoping I can send this ...

Re: Quite disappointed

I'm talking with MatterHackers but it looks like I am going to return my pre-assembled Max v3. I have had a variety of problems with it including a timing belt breaking after the first week. After examining the belt, it is clear it was defective when it was installed, the other two were fine. It st...

I just assembled this one, and eveything is nice and snug.

My son has been running that printed in PETG for a while.

While I can't answer your question directly- My son just started using fusion when he got the printer. There are some great videos out for it.

I do remember seeing one at some point where the person did exactly what you're trying to do.

I'd try Youtube

My son printed that using Cura and stock settings- he's been using it for a few months now.

I'm going to assume he didn't have any issue since he didn't ask for help and only printed it once.

Re: Connecting the fans to the hot ends with connectors

Perhaps overkill, but the connectors are likely to stand up to more plugging unplugging than the little JT connectors, so I went with the Deans. Also, I have the three fans go into one plug. I am not advocating one plug over the other, simply saying that I chose to use them, and why. It's pretty st...

Qdeathstar- any advice after doing this? My son has the Prometheus system coming and we're also upgrading to the Duet WiFi with the IR sensor while we're in there. My son has been running PETG for a couple months now on a stock E3D. Hasn't had anything issues. Can't see this being worth the money.

Re: Using PT100s

It's not critical to me, I just assumed people were using a PT100 on the bed as well. I just receive my AL bar stock, so I'll be making my PT100 Heater Block for the Prometheus V2 this weekend. Thinking about that, got me to thinking about how to mount on the bed so I asked. Thanks for the reply, I'...
