I was too impatient and wound up buying two GLCD's, one from Reprap Discount (this one) and one from Robotseed. I wish I could give specifics as to what it will work with, it does have one of their "smart adapters" and the cables, but I'm not that knowledgeable yet. I paid $89 for it, I'll sell it $75 shipped via USPS express mail. Pictures are of the actual unit I'm selling, currently located in the city of Orange, in California. Thank you for looking!

Everybody with a question has to own one already, rightZakRabbit wrote:No one? I've seen a few posts asking about these...
I need a second one, but it's hard to beat $54 from UberClock.

Is that for the "Standard" one or the full graphic one like this?Jimustanguitar wrote:Everybody with a question has to own one already, rightZakRabbit wrote:No one? I've seen a few posts asking about these...

Which is what this is. Maybe I'm wrong in the "GLCD" part...
Re: Reprap Discount GLCD
Sad to say, what you really paid for was fast delivery and markup.
The display itself can be had for about $15 if you're willing to wait a few weeks to get it. Search for "12864 lcd reprap" on ebay, amazon, or the like. 12864 is the graphics controller chip, which is found in multiple products, but you can spot the right ones from the pictures.
But if you need one fast, obviously Zak has one to sell!

A write up on how to use one of the full graphic cards on a "stock" Rostock Max would really be appreciated.

Unfortunately, I'm going straight to Smoothie, but if someone does contact me, I'll make it a requirement as part of the deal...Eaglezsoar wrote:A write up on how to use one of the full graphic cards on a "stock" Rostock Max would really be appreciated.

12864 GLCD schematic: http://reprap.org/mediawiki/images/5/51 ... EMATIC.pdf

The hardware interface on the two 10-pin connectors is the same (ditto for all the hardware other than the display chip/screen), so you'd use the same adapter (or custom wiring) for the Rambo for either one.
On the software side, in Repetier find "FEATURE_CONTROLLER" in configuration.h. It looks like changing that to 11 per the comments above may be all that is required.
Note: I do NOT have a Rambo board, so I can't try this myself. Testing this is someone else's task.
