Just curious here why the load firmware and calibrate are not one button? Would you not always load the firmware before calibrating?

Because it's JavaScript and I couldn't make it do both at the same time. It's quite likely that it's technically possible, but JavaScript & its environment gives me a big enough case of the willies that to me, is not worth pursuing. (JavaScript is basically a face-stabbing machine with the blade facing inward instead of outward. :D )

The plugin works great, but I'm curious as to what the proper run up procedure should be before performing it. Run it on a cold bed/hotend, Pre heat them, leave them on, turn them off, etc...

I've tried them multiple ways and (other than z height) don't see an overly large difference in the end results.

I've got a Gecko Tek HT plate/Magnetic base(heatspreader) on order. I'm hoping that'll allow me to get the bed flatter and allow me to print at lower bed temps (thus minimizing the amount of warping). We'll see how that works out!

In the meantime, How exactly is everyone else doing things?

So I have been using the Octoprint plugin for months now just fine. When I ran it I would get a deviation of .02 or so after I ran the plugin. Today, I updated the printer firmware to the latest, reinstalled Octopi and updated to the latest, and installed the plugin. I ran a calibration from the LCD and then tried the plugin. I cannot get anything better than .16 deviation.

Any ideas?

You probably shouldn't have messed with it. ;) The calibration is only going to change if you modify the printer mechanically, or you remove the glass bed and don't replace it in the exact same spot.

As to why you're seeing those results, I can't tell you. The plugin only reports what it sees. Maybe PouncingIguana will stick his nose in and comment - he's the firmware wease^H^H^H^Harrior. ;)

I reverted everything back to make sure and I still get the exact same calibration results so I must have done something when I moved the machine. Aside from squaring the towers, is there some simple things to check?

EDIT: Ok, so I ran the web delta calculator. Once I had those new settings loaded, the plugin was able to correct from .06 to .03. I am back in business I think. Thanks

One thing to keep in mind when loading new firmware; make sure to clear the EEPROM first.

Is there a typo in the Readme.me file? You capitalize the 'I' in 'pI' instead of 'pi' in the path of the pip command:

/home/pI/oprint/bin/pip install https://github.com/geneb/OctoPrint-Delt ... master.zip

It wouldn't work for me until I fixed to the lower case 'pi'.

Thanks for pointing that out Tim. It's fixed in the git repo now.
